Thank you for your interest in joining the Board of Directors at The Voice Inc. The Voice is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children with special needs, those with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and their families. Through one-on-one mentoring, we help individuals with special needs attain wholeness in four key areas: IDENTITY, EDUCATION, SPIRITUALITY, and SOCIAL PLAN. Prior to acceptance to join the Board of Directors, you will be required to send your resume and complete a demographic information form as part of our commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Our Board of Directors is accountable for monitoring the progress of the organization and aiding with the successful execution of objectives & proposals. A Board member who truly devotes their time, abilities, aptitude, background, resources and links is a valuable asset. Our ideal Board member is passionate about connecting with their community, strategizing, fundraising, responsible fiscal management and displaying leadership qualities. Board of Directors members may be asked to lead at least one committee in the efforts of our collaborative strategic planning process. Which Committee(s) do you think you will be the biggest asset to? Check all that apply.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI): aims to formally demonstrate our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, to ensure that our organization is truly welcoming and inclusive to all, and benefits from a diversity of voices and experiences within our team.
Finance: The Finance Committee provides on-going supervision of and guidance to the fiscal operations of The Voice. It also functions as a board liaison to the external auditing firm.
Governance: is responsible for the health and functioning of the Board. Initiatives include: Board and Associate Board recruitment and onboarding; evaluating the performance of the Board, and creating and reviewing governing processes and policies.
Grants: aims to diversify funding sources to ensure the long-term financial viability, stability and success of The Voice by researching funding sources for general operational support, building organizational capacity, specific programs, or other time-bound needs.
Marketing & Strategy focuses strategies related to building relationships and ensuring organizational initiatives that advance The Voice's mission and increasing the visibility and sustainability of The Voice, its programs and community relations.
