• Troop Camping Activities Request Form

    We are happy to have you joining us for troop camping! The first couple of pages of this form explain all of the activities that we have to offer at our camps over a troop camping weekend! On the final page, troops will be able to submit their requests. Activity requests are subject to camp approval. For best results, please submit your activity requests no later than 30 days prior to your camp arrival date. We will do our best to fulfill requests, but they are not guaranteed. Once your activities have been confirmed, we will issue an invoice and add your activities to your Doubleknot account. Payment is due no later than two weeks prior to your camp date.   • Group Size

    Each activity has a minimum and maximum group size. If your group does not meet the minimum, you will be paired with another troop when possible. If we are unable to pair your group with another troop, you will be charged for the minimum number of participants. For example, Archery is $15/person and group minimum is 6. If you have 4 campers participating, the fee will be $90. If your group exceeds the maximum, your group will be split into multiple sessions. There are no additional fees for exceeding the maximum.

  • Sling Shots

    This is our Daisy option for target sports. We use archery rules and work to give our campers proper shooting range ettiquette as they practice good form with their sling shots.

    Archery

    Go for the bull's eye. After a safety orientation, an archery instructor will guide the participants through practice shooting while learning proper stance, how to hold the bow, nock an arrow, and aim for the target. This activity lasts one hour.

    Canoe

    Want to work on your paddling sports? Try Canoeing! This session will have qualified personnel to assist with safety equipment fitting, a safety orientation, and paddle school lesson prior to allowing campers to paddle in the lake. Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs) are required and provided. Participants must wear shoes. This activity lasts one hour.

    Note: Daisy groups must have an adult in each boat. One canoe can accomodate 2 Daisy campers and 1 adult.

    Kayak 

    Try Kayaking! This session will have qualified personnel to assist with safety equipment fitting, a safety orientation, and paddle school lesson prior to allowing campers to paddle in the lake. Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs) are required and provided. Participants must wear shoes. This activity lasts one hour.

    Paddleboarding 

    Want to work on your paddling sports but have already tried canoeing and kayaking? Try Stand-up Paddle Boarding! This session will have qualified personnel to assist with safety equipment fitting, a safety orientation, and paddle school lesson prior to allowing campers to paddle in the lake. Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs) are required and provided. Participants must wear shoes. This activity lasts one hour. 
    Note: This activity is weather and temperature dependent.

  • Adult-Led Pony Ride & Grooming Lesson

    (1 Hour Horseback Riding)

    Campers will get hand-on horse experience during this session! Our staff will lead  adults to assist with an adult-led pony ride in the arena. Campers will start working on riding basics as well as horse ettiquette and a grooming lesson. This is a great option to allow campers to get more comfortable around horses! This activity is one hour. Note: The group will participate in groundwork prior to the horseback riding portion of this program.

    Fee: $35 / person                                                  Minimum: 5       Maximum: 15

    Arena Ride (1 Hour Horseback Riding)

    Campers will learn how to start, steer, and stop their horse. Each group will go over barn rules, get suited up for their ride, and learn how to control their horses in an arena. This activity is one hour. Note: The group will participate in groundwork prior to the horseback riding portion of this program.

    2 or 3 Hour Horseback Riding Programs

    This option is for groups looking for a custom or longer equestrian experience. This includes working towards Junior Horseback Riding Badge, Tennessee's Own Horse Badges, or diving further into horse handling skills. Talk to our staff about our ride times that are longer than an hour! Please note that some badges require campers to trot and depending on the group, we may not be able to accomplish that skill in one day. Note: The group will participate in groundwork prior to the horseback riding portion of this program.

    Teambuilding (Cooperative Games)

    Campers will be introduced team building concepts that are age appropriate for each Girl Scout level and give groups a taste of what challenge course is about from the ground. This program is 1 hour long.

    GS Program Level: Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors

    Fee: $15 / person                                                Minimum: 8         Maximum: 12

    Teambuilding & Climbing Wall or Giant Swing

    Join us for a Team building session that will include either a climb on the wall or a ride on the Giant Swing. The session will be designed to each Girl Scout level and the ability or the girls in the troop. This program is 2 hours long.

    Fee: $35 / person                                                Minimum: 8         Maximum: 12

    High Challenge Course 

    Participants will climb 20-35 feet in the air and complete at least two different high challenges. A belay system is in place at all times. All participants must wear close‐toed shoes and long shorts or pants. Climbing helmets are provided. This activity includes a cooperative game, ground school, and climbing. This activity lasts between 2 and 3 hours depending on group size.

    Design Your Own Challenge Course Experience!

    You will work with our camp team to design a challenge course experience around the goals for your troop. Each session will begin with a teambuilding exercise that will focus on goal setting, communication, trust, cooperation, or a combination of these outcomes. Then you will then proceed to elements on the challenge course to work on those goals.

    4 HR Fee: $70 / person                                Minimum: 8         Maximum: 12

    6 HR Fee: $105 / person

     

     Add Badge/Skill Work Elective

    Have a badge or camp skill you want to learn or practice at camp but don't have an expert in your troop to teach it? This program is available for your group to work with the camp staff team in providing a program designed just for you! Examples of this elective program include but are not limited to Outdoor cooking, Identification Hikes, Nature Photography, Survival Skills or other types of camp electives.  
    Note: This program is designed to have the troop and Assistant Camp Director work together to plan a program that meets the troops objectives and remains within camp staffs training and budget. Adults who attend with their troop do not need to register to participate but can attend to shadow camp staff.

  • How to Fill Out this Form

    Only include the number of adults who will be participating in the activity. There is no charge for adults who are not participating. Adults are required to attend activities for supervision based on GS safety ratios. If adults are required to participate (for ex: canoeing with a daisy group) make sure to include the number in "participating adults."
  • I, *, understand that I will still be required to submit a Troop Camping Pre-Approval form (https://form.jotform.com/83395933933166) with a complete roster of attending adults and participants no later than 30 days prior to my arrival date. All girls must be registered Girl Scouts. Each attending adult must be a registered Girl Scout member and complete a background check. At least one adult in my group must have First Aid and completed Safety First and Day Trips and Overnights training in gsLearn. Each group must have two, non-related female adults in attendance.

  • Troop Led Activities - if only available at CMM make conditional

    These activity options are troop-led activities and are available at no additional cost. Lesson plans and some materials needed will be provided. Some activities might require your group to bring your own materials.
  • General Activities

    Letterboxing - Are you a Brownie troop working on your letter boxing or an older troop that is looking for a fun way to learn their way around camp? Try out our Letterboxing clues. We have two sets of clues to accomodate younger campers and older campers.

    Geocaching - Are you a Junior troop working on your Geocaching badge or a troop that wants to try their hand at Geocaching? Try this intro box and course! If you're working towards the badge, bring 1 orange or tangerine for each camper to complete the activity and enjoy a sweet snack afterwards!

    Knots Kit - Need to work on knots for a badge or an upcoming trip? We have a knots kit that will have knot books for your troop to use. Want help deciding what knots would be great for your group? Talk to our staff for ideas!

    Compass Kit - Did your badge require that you learn to use a compass or to learn orienteering? We have a compass box that will help you do just that! It also has topographical maps of the camp for your to start practicing your orienteering skills!

    Animal Tracks - Want to see what type of animals we have at camp? We have an animal tracks kit at camp that you can use to familiarize what different type of animal prints look like.

    Bird Identification - Want to see what type of birds we have at camp? Use our bird identification kit that has birds from the area in it.

    Hammock Village Time - Interested in using our hammocks? Let our staff know, they can schedule you a time to use our hammocks at camp.

    Tree Identification - Ready to see what type of trees we have around camp? Use our guides that we have so that you can find out what type of trees we have around camp.

    101 Uses of Bandana - Bandanas have so many uses! Borrow one of our 101 Ways to Use a Bandanna book and some bandannas to try it out yourself!

    Yoga - Our staff have put together a campy themed box full of yoga poses so that you can have a peaceful moment with your campers.

    Nature Photography - Camp has a curriculum that we put together to help lead you through different photography ideas so that your group can use it to do nature photography. Bring your own cell phone or other camera to make this program possible.

  • Themed Hike Boxes

    Senses Night Hike - Want a night hike but want a chance to have some activities along with it? Borrow our Senses night hike! This box will have a list of acitivities for your troop to do along a hike that has several stops to learn about your senses at night.

    Eye-Shine Night Hike - Have campers that would like to keep their eyes open but willing to learn about animals? Learn about nocturnal animals with our eye-shine night hike. Learn about tapetum lucidum, how it works, and then go find shinning animal eye shaped refletors around camp to guess what type of animal they could be.

    Mindfulness Hike - Working on mindfulness with your troop? Try this hike! It has severeal stops for you to take a break on your hike and use it as a way to be mindful on your hike.

    Forest Bathing - Learn a little about forest bathing and how to use your hike to help you return a little healthier and why hikes are so healthy for you.

    Solar System Hike from Junior Space Science Badge - Working on your Junior Space Science Investigator Badge or want a fun galaxy based hike? Try this hike! We provide a copy of the instruction from the hike with the needed props to do this hike.

  • Girl Scout Traditions

    Graces - Does your group do graces before meals? We have list of them with lyrics so that your group can use them to practice gratitude. They are neutral graces and can be customized to your troop's views.

    Songs - Ask staff for a song book to be able to join in the tradition of singing camp songs at your campfire. If you ask nicely, staff may lead their favorite song when they are checking on you.

    SWAPS - Girl Scouts have pins that are called SWAPS (Some Whatchamacallit Affectionately Pinned Somewhere). They are often made and then swapped with other troops. Bring your own supplies, staff will give you an idea of a small craft to make and bring with you, so that you can engage with this tradition.

    Girl Scout Law and Promise Journal Prompts - Are your campers working on the Girl Scout Promise and Law and you want to incorporate that to your time at camp? Bring a journal and pen to camp. Staff have made a journaling activity for you!

    Bridging - Is your group using this weekend as a time to Bridge from one Girl Scout level to the next? Our staff have a list of scenic places at camp to do this ceremony and a quick ceremony outline for you to use for your campers to add a special mood to your ceremony.

    Flag Ceremonies - Do your campers want to do a flag ceremony at camp, but do not know how? We have an outline for you to do that and can point you toward where the camp flag pole is. 

     

  • Troop-Led Activities Request

    Let staff know which activities you would like to include in your troop camping experience. Select all that apply so that we can have them ready for you upon arrival! Please note that boxes may be shared amongst troops over the course of a weekend.
  • Cancellation & Refund Policy

    Once activities have been confirmed, payment is required no later than 14 days in advance, or troops risk cancellation. Final participant numbers cannot be changed less than 14 days before the camping date. We will do our best to add additional participants when possible, but we will not be able to reduce group size or issue a refund less than 14 days before the camping date as we have made arrangements for your group. A full refund will be available if the activity cannot safely run due to weather. Activities that can safely run in light rain, cold, or hot temperatures, may not be canceled, so please come prepared. If the activity still runs and the troop chooses not to participate, a refund will not be available.
