• Tammany Park & Campground Reservation Request Application

    Tammany Park is a 10-acre wooded park nestled on the edge of Farrington Lake in East Brunswick.  Home to East Brunswick’s only campsite, the Campground is meant to be a home base for East Brunswick Boy/Girl Scout Troops and a close to home introductory location to camping for families looking to spend time in the great outdoors.  Specifically for East Brunswick Residents only, this campground is the perfect test site to see if your family is up for a bigger camping trip in the future. 
  • Proof of residency or Not for Profit Status is required.
    You MUST attach a copy of your driver’s license.

  • This form only acts as a Park, Field & Facility Reservation Application and does not guarantee a permit to applicant. Upon receipt of application, the Department of Recreation, Parks & Community Services will determine availability of facility.  A fee estimate will be developed and returned to applicant after determining availability of facility requested. Permit is NOT complete or accepted until applicant makes proper payment and returns all appropriate paperwork to the Department of Recreation, Parks & Community Services.

  • Tammany Park & Campground General Rules

    • Park Ranger Program - The Township of East Brunswick Park Ranger Program will conduct a site visit each evening of your permit and/or during the course of the permit taken.  The Park Ranger cell phone may be contacted at 732-425-0461 or contact the East Brunswick Police Department Non-Emergency number at 732-390-6900. All emergencies dial 911 immediately.

    • Campground - The Park has one site with a fire ring.  A Porta Jon is within walking distance. All trash must be carried out; there are no trash cans at the park.  No groups larger than 20 are permitted. 
      • Bicentennial Park is a stone’s throw away and offers additional trails, fishing, basketball, ball fields, soccer fields, sand volleyball, tennis, paddle ball and a full playground.
      • Directions – the campground is accessed through the driveway located at 21 Oakmont Avenue, East Brunswick NJ; drive into the driveway and then keep left following signs to Tammany Campground to the gravel parking lot located parallel to the sign/trailhead of Tammany Park & Campground. 

    • Keep Your Park Clean and Green - Protect plants and animals and care for your park by taking your trash with you. Whatever you carry into the park, plan on carrying it out too.  It’s like crowdsourcing trash management!  Bring a bag or two for trash, recycling and cleaning up after your pet. There are no trash receptacles in this park.
      • Park Rangers will be checking the site after every permit; if the campsite is left in an unclean state based on the Park Rangers discretion (litter, abandoned equipment, clothes, etc.) a $300 fee shall be assessed to the permit holder.  Thank you!

    • Alcohol – Alcohol is prohibited in all Township parks and public areas

    • Smoking - East Brunswick Ordinance prohibits the smoking of tobacco and use of electronic smoking (vaping) devices in all East Brunswick parks, forests, historic sites, recreation areas.

    • Fires - Fires are permitted only in the campground provided fire ring.  Fires may be prohibited due to forest fire threat when prevailing conditions warrant this precaution.  Firewood may be provided by the Recreation and Parks Department for use, but this is not guaranteed.
      • Please use water and soil to put out your fire to a cool temperature before leaving the fire unattended. 

    • Pets - Pets must always be on a leash no longer than six feet in length and under the control of the owner. Please clean up after your pets.

    • Firearms - A person shall not possess or discharge any firearms, pellet gun, bow and arrow, sling shot or other weapon capable of injuring people or wildlife. Target practice is prohibited.  Hunting is prohibited on public property as per East Brunswick Township Ordinance.

    • Swimming - Swimming is not permitted and there are no lifeguards are on duty.

    • Boating - Small car top boats, canoes, kayaks and paddleboards may be launched at Tammany Park Campground’s beach area.  Small Electric motors only are permitted.  A US Coast Guard-approved personal flotation device is required for each person on board the vessel.  No Lifeguards are on duty. 

    • Fishing - Tammany Park Campground offers opportunities for freshwater fishing. The lake features sunfish, trout, largemouth bass and catfish to name a few.  NJ State Fishing Licenses are required. 

    • Tick Protection – There are ticks in the great outdoors!  Use insect repellent, wear light-colored clothing, tuck pants into socks, stay on trails, check yourself when you get home, shower and wash clothes immediately.

    • Vehicle – Vehicles shall park in the trail head, gravel parking lot next to the Tammany Park Trail head Kiosk and furthest away from the East Brunswick Elks Club.  Permit holders bringing more than five vehicles must receive permission from the Department of Recreation & Parks prior to arriving.  Vehicle information will be required at the time of check-in for the Permit Holder including License Plate Number, State, Make, Model and Color

    • Visitors - Visitors are allowed at the campground between 8 AM to 8 PM, however there must be no more than 20 persons at the campground during any time of the permit.  Should the East Brunswick Elks have an event at the property, no visitors shall be permitted during these instances.  

    • Utility Hook Ups – Electric and sewer hook ups are not provided at the campground.  Please bring your own potable water as well.  

    • Quiet Hours - Please observe quiet hours from 10 PM to 8 AM.

    • Check In/Check Out Time – Check In/Out Time at the campground is Noon.
       
    • Camping Fees - $50 Per Night (2 night maximum)

    • Cancellation Policy - If you cancel seven days or less prior to your check-in date, one night use fee will be deducted from refund due.  Cancellation made eight days or more prior to your check-in-date will result in a full refund.  Any weather related cancelation requests will result in a rescheduled date only.  Inclement weather, including a forecast for significant wind gusts may be cause for cancelation of permit made by the Recreation & Parks Department.  Refunds will not be provided for reservations that do not arrive or if you are evicted for any reason.  Any early departure of the permit holder from the campground will result in no refund. 
  • Minimum Age of a Permittee – the campground must be reserved and occupied by at least one responsible person, 21 years of age or older.  The responsible person obtaining the permit must also be a resident of East Brunswick, NJ (proof will be required).  The person submitting the permit MUST BE PRESENT THROUGHOUT THE PERMIT.  NO EXCEPTIONS.

    Permit Availability – the campground shall be available April 15th through November 15th each calendar year subject to availability of the Park Ranger Program and at the discretion of the Recreation & Parks Departments ability to maintain and supervise the area annually.  Permits must be made a minimum of 7 days in advance of your stay.  Tammany Park & Campground only accepts one permit per date; it is a single campground site – all camper names must be listed on the permit at the time of completion. 

    Limit of Stay – Total length of stay allowed is 2 consecutive nights.  Additional stays may be granted in the same calendar year provided the applicant has vacated the campground for at least five (5) nights between each occupancy. 

  • Hold Harmless Agreement

    “To the fullest extent permitted by law, *Name of Contractor/Vendor/Facility User) hereby WAIVES AND RELEASES any and all claims it may have now or that may come into existence against the Township of East Brunswick (“Township”), its elected and appointed officials, its agents, employees and volunteers and others working on behalf of the Township of East Brunswick, which arises out of the Contractor/Vendor/Facility User’s use of the Township’s property or facilities. This Waiver and Release specifically includes the waiver and release of all claims for any personal injury or illness, including bodily injury or death and/or property damage, including loss of use thereof. Further, the undersigned Contractor, Vendor, or Facility User UNDERSTANDS AND AGREES that this Release includes any claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of the Township of East Brunswick, its elected and appointed officials, its agents, employees and volunteers and others working on behalf of the Township of East Brunswick.  

    To the fullest extent permitted by law, the undersigned Contractor/Vendor/Facility User agrees to defend, pay on behalf of, indemnify, and hold harmless the Township of East Brunswick, its elected and appointed officials, its agents, employees and volunteers and others working on behalf of the Township of East Brunswick, against any and all claims, demands, suits or loss, including all costs connected therewith, and for any damages which may be asserted, claimed or recovered against or from the Township of East Brunswick, its elected and appointed officials, its agents, employees, volunteers or others working on behalf of the Township of East Brunswick, by reason of personal injury or illness, including bodily injury or death and/or property damage, including loss of use thereof, which arises out of or is in any way connected to alleged negligence on the part of the Contractor/Vendor/Facility user. 

    This Waiver of Liability and Hold Harmless Agreement includes the waiver of any claims arising out of exposure to or infection with the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, whether such exposure of infection occurs before, during, or after the use of the Township’s property or facilities. The undersigned hereby agrees to defend, pay on behalf of, indemnify, and hold harmless the Township of East Brunswick, its elected and appointed officials, its agents, employees and volunteers and others working on behalf of the Township of East Brunswick, against any and all claims, demands, suits or loss, including all costs connected with any claims of illness or exposure to COVID-19. COVID-19 has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and may cause serious or life-threatening illness or even death. Current medical knowledge indicates that it is believed to spread by contact between individuals, contact with contaminated surfaces, and even through the air. It is believed that an individual can be in infected with COVID-19 without their knowledge and be asymptomatic. The Township of East Brunswick cannot guarantee that any Contractor, Vendor, Facility User and their guests/participants, or anyone else, will not become infected with COVID-19. Use of the Township’s property or facilities could increase the risk of contracting COVID-19. 

  • INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS

    Authorization for the use of Parks facilities is contingent upon the applying organization furnishing a copy of a Certificate of Insurance naming the Township of East Brunswick as “Additional Insured”.  Failure of the applicant to provide a valid certificate of insurance will render the application invalid and prohibit use of the facilities.  See below for insurance requirements.

  • General Facility Use Regulations

    Your cooperation in abiding by these regulations will make park use more enjoyable for all.  Should you have any additional questions regarding the use of East Brunswick Parks, please feel free to call the Department of Parks & Recreation at 732-390-6797.  Should you need to contact a Park Ranger during your reservation time, please call the Police non-emergency number, 732-390-6900.  If you have an emergency, call 9-1-1.

    The permitted area shall be left in good condition.  Individual/group is responsible for all damage by its agents, participants and/or spectators.

    Guidelines: 

    • Clean your area when you are finished.  Deposit all trash in receptacles provided.
    • Glass containers are prohibited in all parks and public purpose areas.
    • All aluminum containers must be recycled in receptacles provided in parks.
    • No smoking is permitted in any Township Park.
    • Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
    • Extinguish all grills completely.  Cold ashes and briquettes are to be disposed of properly and safely.
    • Please use paper products, no styrofoam.
    • Confine all vehicle traffic to paved roadways.  Park in designated areas only.
    • Abide by the hours of operation posted in each park.  Make sure areas are cleaned before closing.
    • Do not move picnic tables or trash cans from one area to another.
    • Observe all directives of the Park Ranger, Parks Employee, and Emergency Services Personnel.
    • Respect other park users by keeping noise levels within reason.

    Please note: All permit holders using park facilities are subject to the same general rules as stated in Chapter 158 – Code of East Brunswick Township.  Failure to comply with these regulations may result in immediate revocation of the permit, a summons, and possible ejection from the park/program. 

    Reservation Policies and Procedures:

    Payment and certificate of insurance MUST be attached to a completed application to be considered for a reservation. 

    • Permit valid only under the provisions of Chapter 158 of the Code and the Regulations of East Brunswick Township.
    • All cancellations and refund requests must be made at least two days prior to your scheduled event.  Cancellation without proper notification will result in the forfeit of fees. Contact the Department of Parks and Recreation at 732-390-6797 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
    • The maximum number for group picnics is fifty (50) individuals.  (Township schools and community organizations are exceptions and qualify as special events.)
    • The facility user shall not be allowed access to the facility until it has obtained the insurance required under this contract.  All coverage shall be with insurance carriers licensed and admitted to do business in the State of New Jersey and acceptable to the municipality.
    • Township authorized leagues have first preference in scheduling of facilities.
      o   Coaches of approved sports leagues must have a copy of the Township’s approved facility use application in their possession.
    • The Township shall not be responsible for any loss or damage which the User suffers from the cancellation of a scheduled event resulting from the Township’s activities or circumstances or events beyond the control of the Township, or where User has failed to satisfy all requirements set forth in this policy.
    • The Township of East Brunswick, in its sole discretion reserves the right to cancel any event in the best interest of the Township, or where necessitated by circumstances, or reason beyond the control of the Township.
