    The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon expands on its complimentary ‘Track Thursdays’ offering by launching weekly Saturday Long Runs, starting on the 6th August all the way up until race day. 

    Our newly announced first-tier sponsors, Virgin Active, will be hosting the warm-ups and cool-downs.

    Saturday Long Runs will depart from Virgin Active Table View, Virgin Active Green Point, Virgin Active Paarl & Virgin Active Stellenbosch on a rotating schedule.

    When:  Every Saturday starting at 7h00
    Where: Rotating - Table View, Green Point, Paarl & Stellenbosch Virgin Active
    Cost: No cost
    Bring: Your own running shoes, towel and refreshment
    Why Long Runs? It’s the perfect opportunity to bank some good mileage ahead of the marathon, alongside like-minded individuals.

    • Virgin Active Green Point: 10 September & 8 October
    • Virgin Active Stellenbosch: 24 September

  • Waiver - Track Thursday Johannesburg 

    • University of Johannesburg & UJ Sport will not be liable for any injuries, loss and damages of private property.
    • It is solely the responsibility of the athlete to ensure safe keeping of their personal belongings.
  • Waiver - Saturday Long Runs

    1. By entering this event/training session, I undertake to be bound by the rules and regulations of the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon and Virgin Active South Africa.
    2. I warrant that I am in good health and aware of the risks and dangers of physical nature of this sporting event, and do not claim ignorance of these risks and dangers.
    3. I hereby accept that I participate in the event/training session entirely at my own risk and I release and discharge, to the fullest extent allowed in law, the organisers of the event, all sponsors, persons and organisations assisting in the staging of the event, provincial and national athletics bodies and all local authorities from any responsibility, liability or costs relating to any injury, loss or damage of whatever nature, however, caused, arising directly or indirectly for my participation in the event including pre- and post-race/ training activities.
    4. I further agree and warrant that if at any time I believe conditions to be unsafe, I will immediately discontinue further participation in the activity.
