2020 was one of the most important years of our lives. For better or for worse, everything changed and we changed with it.
The coming years came in 4 stages for me. It began with Quarantine. Also known as “the reset button”. It was a part of life that gave many of us time to pause and find ourselves without the pressures of work or responsibilities at the cost of isolation and unanswered questions.
Black Lives Matter (BLM) was the second stage, which left me in a deep pool of anger and pain. After attending and photographing multiple protests at the height of the BLM movement. I decided to not only use my photography to speak to fashion but as a way to express and capture social history.
The third stage began after my Grandfather passed. We visited Jamaica for his funeral, where I enriched myself in the culture and began the Faces of Jamaica series.
Once I returned I left my job as a banker and began my journey of Ascension. I focused solely on developing my work by creating photographic stories influenced by friendship, romance, and escapism.
