GEO Mountains Workshop at IMC2022 on identifying Essential Mountain Socioeconomic Variables (ESVs)
In person event | 14 September 2022 | 18:00-20:00 CEST
REGISTRATION
In early 2022, GEO Mountains established eleven Task Groups (TGs) to focus inputs from the network on key activities. TG2.3 aims to identify Essential Socioeconomic Variables (ESVs) to be monitored across global mountains, while TG2.4 seeks to produce a global spatial dataset or datasets corresponding to these ESVs.
Within the framework of TG2.3, a 2-hour workshop is planned during the International Mountain Conference (IMC) in Innsbruck, Austria, on Wednesday 14th September from 18:00-20:00. The aim of this workshop is to collectively produce a list of desired mountain ESVs and define minimum data requirements for the dataset. The workshop is open to all interested mountain scientists from any discipline.
Task Group 2.3 and 2.4 are led by Global Mountain Safeguard Research (GLOMOS) and Dr. Tuyeni Mwampamba of the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
