Position Type: Casual
Contract: 3-4 months with likey extension
Pay: $25-$30/hr
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation, portioning, and serving of meals and beverages according to established menus and dietary requirements.
- Ensure that food is prepared in a sanitary and safe manner, following food safety regulations.
- Set up dining areas, including arranging trays, utensils, and other necessary equipment.
- Serve meals to residents and ensure that any special dietary restrictions are followed.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen, dining areas, and equipment after use, maintaining high hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with dietary staff, including dietitians and chefs, to ensure accurate food service.
- Assist with the inventory, ordering, and proper storage of food supplies.
- Monitor and record food intake and dietary changes as required by health care plans.
- Provide respectful and courteous service to residents, and their families, addressing any meal-related concerns.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations, including health and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in Food Handling or Food Safety
- Experience working in a dietary or kitchen environment, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights (up to 25 lbs).
- Knowledge of dietary guidelines and food preparation processes.
Additional Requirements:
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Proof of immunization and TB testing.
- Immunization against Covid-19.
- Must be authorized to work in Canada.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
