  • Please click on below areas to learn about the tasks and responsibilities

    • Food Distribution/Kitchen Services 
      • Arrive before the program begins to assist with meal preparation and ensure everything is ready prior to food service.
      • Assist with preparing and assembling iftar meal plates.
        Ensure food is distributed fairly and equitably between the men's and women's sections.
      • Set up serving tables, utensils, napkins, cups, and other necessary paper products in the designated serving areas.
      • Fill all water coolers with fresh water and ice before food service begins, and replenish as needed.
      • Inspect all trash receptacles to ensure clean liners are installed before the event.
      • Prepare and serve tea according to the kitchen schedule.
      • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen throughout the program by promptly removing trash and keeping work areas tidy.

      At the conclusion of the program:

      • Remove all trash bags and dispose of them in the designated dumpster.
      • Wash and organize kitchen utensils and equipment.
      • Dispose of all used food trays and other disposable serving materials.
      • Properly cover, label (if applicable), and refrigerate any remaining food.
      • Clean and disinfect all food preparation surfaces, serving areas, and kitchen workstations.
      • Leave the kitchen and food service areas clean, organized, and ready for the next use.
    • Audio / Video / Lighting 
      • Set up, program, and operate the sound system for all programs and events.
      • Assist with stage setup, including the installation and testing of microphones, speakers, monitors, and other audio equipment.
      • Conduct sound checks with speakers and reciters prior to the start of each program to ensure optimal audio quality.
      • Program, monitor, and operate the audio console throughout the event, making adjustments as needed.
      • Program and manage the system used for the live YouTube broadcast, ensuring a high-quality online viewing experience.
      • Program and operate the DMX lighting console, adjusting lighting as appropriate for each program.
      • Operate the presentation software used to display Qur'an verses, nohas, announcements, videos, and presentation slides.
      • Monitor all audio, video, lighting, and livestream systems throughout the program and promptly address any technical issues.
      • At the conclusion of the program, power down equipment properly, secure all A/V equipment, and ensure the control booth and stage areas are clean and organized.
    • Building Operations 
      • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility before, during, and after all programs and events.
      • Perform routine cleaning of the building, including common areas, classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and storage spaces.
      • Organize furniture, equipment, and storage areas to ensure the Center remains neat and functional.
      • Assist with moving tables, chairs, furniture, and other equipment as needed for programs and special events.
      • Set up and dismantle tents, canopies, and other event infrastructure in a safe and timely manner.
      • Transport, stage, and organize materials and supplies required for events, including decorations, signage, equipment, and storage bins.
      • Perform general facility maintenance, including minor repairs, equipment upkeep, and reporting any maintenance issues requiring further attention.
      • Monitor the condition of the building and grounds, promptly identifying and addressing safety hazards when possible.
      • Assist with event setup and teardown to ensure all spaces are prepared according to event requirements.
      • Ensure all equipment, tools, and maintenance supplies are returned to their designated storage locations after use.
      • Help maintain the exterior of the facility by keeping entrances, walkways, parking areas, and outdoor spaces clean and presentable.
      • Support other volunteer teams with operational needs to ensure the successful execution of mosque programs and events.
    • Salat Setup 
      • Welcome and assist newcomers by directing them to the wudu (ablution) area and answering basic questions about the prayer facilities.
      • Ensure the proper arrangement of the congregation so that the continuity of the prayer rows between the men's and women's sections is maintained in accordance with mosque guidelines.
      • Set up prayer chairs and tables for elderly congregants and individuals who are unable to pray on the floor.
      • Assist worshippers with seating and accommodate any accessibility needs before the prayer begins.
      • After the prayer, fold and neatly store all prayer chairs and tables in their designated storage area.
      • Provide turbahs to congregants as needed and collect them after use, ensuring they are stored neatly for future prayers.
      • Help maintain a clean, organized, and respectful prayer environment before, during, and after congregational prayers.
    • Opening & Closing Responsibilities  
    • Before the Program

      • Arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the program to prepare the facility.
      • Open the Center and ensure it is ready to receive congregants.
      • Turn on all required interior and exterior lights.
      • Unlock the men's and women's entrances and verify they are accessible.
      • Adjust the thermostats as needed to maintain a comfortable environment.
      • Place all designated trash and recycling bins outside for collection, if applicable.
      • Conduct a brief walkthrough of the facility to ensure all common areas, restrooms, and entrances are clean, safe, and ready for use.

      After the Program

      • Turn off projectors, cameras, televisions, lighting, and any other equipment that is not required to remain operational overnight.
      • Perform a final walkthrough to confirm the facility is clean, all equipment has been properly shut down, and no congregants or volunteers remain inside.
      • Lock all entrances to the building and verify that the building is secure before departing.
