OPEN CALL - OFRENDA FEST : "THE WATER ELEMENT"
The Art Call (Deadline JULY 10th)
Exhibition space - Queens Council of the Arts in Long Island City, Queens.
As we all know, water is a precious resource that we often take for granted. It is essential for our survival, and yet it is often polluted and misused. Through this exhibit, we hope to bring attention to the importance of water and spark a dialogue about how we can better protect and preserve it for future generations.
We are deeply interested in hearing your thoughts and feelings about your connection to the element of water. We believe that everyone has a unique perspective and vision that can shed light on the importance of this vital element. We would like to invite you to share with us your personal message and vision for how you connect with water.
Here are some questions to reflect on the element of water and the connection with your art:
- How does water inspire you in your artwork?
- Are there any particular bodies of water that have influenced your art?
- How does water play a role in your creative process?
- How do you incorporate water into your art, whether it be through color, texture, or subject matter?
- Have you ever traveled to a location specifically for its water features, and if so, how did that influence your art?
- How can we protect this valuable resource?
Can water heal us?
Registration Fee: $30 (waived for Indigenous artists)
