A Day with the Doctors is a FREE one-day interactive program that offers high school students, who have an interest in becoming a physician, an opportunity to experience doctors' daily activities and life on LSU Health's Shreveport or New Orleans or Tulane School of Medicine campuses.
Students learn diagnostic skills, such a taking blood pressure, listening to heart sounds, taking a radial pulse, measuring respiratory rate and listening to breath sounds.
Participants have the opportunity to interact with physicians and medical students where they discover admission requirements for medical school and explore the life of a medical student.
Application Deadline is November 21st. All applicants will be notified after the deadline has passed and all applications have been reviewed by staff. Email notifications will be sent to all students concerning the status of their acceptance. Students that are accepted will be required to confirm their partication via an online link in the acceptance email.
This program is open to students residing in the following parishes: Ascension, Avoyelles, Catahoula, Concordia, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Grant, Iberville, LaSalle, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Helena, Rapides, Vernon, West Baton Rouge, West Feliciana, and Winn.
