Thank you for your interest in Appointed Board Member opportunities within the Moulton Elementary PTA for the 2022-2023 school year. Below you will find a list of vacant Appointed Board Member positions and brief descriptions for each. There are many positions needing to be filled and we need your help! The term runs from August 2022 through June 2023 with the option to remain in your position for the following year(s).

Following submission, you will be contacted by the PTA Executive Board to discuss the details and hourly commitment of the position(s). Position confirmation will be made based on both your interest AND position availability.

****BOO BLAST CHAIR and COMMITTEE - Various opportunities to coordinate vendors, decorate the school, recruit companies for raffles, operate various booths during the carnival. It's a huge effort and we need your help!****ART REFLECTIONS CHAIR - Facilitate student participation in the National PTA Art Reflections competition in early October, includes maintaining social media site and organizing the awards. Potentially assist in the organization of a gala for Art Reflections winners.****PTA MEMBERSHIP CHAIR - Collects membership dues to give to Treasurer, encourages other families to join the PTA by holding small incentive drives, such as ice cream parties for the class that has the most PTA memberships. Create visual poster to show the progress of membership drive (such as a thermometer filling up).****BULLETIN BOARD CHAIR - Update PTA bulletin board in Moulton front office monthly to provide parents and teachers up to date information about PTA activities.****FALL BOOK FAIR - Coordinate fall book fair; involves communicating with book fair vendor, assist with set up/clean up, organizing schedule.****ROOM REP COORDINATOR - Educate and advise room rep parents on activities they need to coordinate and information they should be delivering to their classroom parents throughout the year.TECHNOLOGY/WEBSITE - Update and improve the PTA website, keep PTA social media (facebook/instagram) up to date.GRAPHICS/FLYERS - Design and print flyers via the district printer for the PTA.SPIRIT WEAR - Purchase and coordinate delivery for spirit wear orders as needed. Advertise spirit Fridays and encourage families to order spirit wear. Potential for creating new designs for school spirit wear, if inspired to do so.FALL CATALOG FUNDRAISER - Coordinate fall fundraiser; PTA typically does See's Candy or Gift WrapEARTH DAY CHAIR - Organize Moulton’s Earth Day activities in April 2022 for all grade levels (ex: This can be a school campus clean up).ART EDUCATION CHAIR - Organizes art enrichment activities for the students via Art Masters.GARDEN - Maintain the school garden with various plants so that it can be used as a learning opportunity for the students. Purchase items needed for maintenance and clean out the shed as needed.JOG A THON COMMITTEE - Coordinate our Spring Jog A Thon Fundraiser (the vendor and date is already reserved), including identifying sponsors and coordinating handout of prizes.SPONSORSHIP CHAIR - Identify and secure sponsors from the community and facilitate placement of sponsor banners on campus.KINDNESS WEEK CHAIR - Coordinate activities for all grade levels for each day of Kindness Week, 4th grade has 1 day of learning in 5 stations about challenges for Autism/Seeing Impaired and other sensory sensitivities.TALENT SHOW CHAIR - Organizes talent show, including renting the location and organizing rehearsals and student participation. Must also find parents (maybe 2 or 3) that will be the teachers/ leaders of the children's talents. Must hold a few rehearsals after school in the Auditorium, and the days of the actual event, be the MC as well as organize the group acts. (TBD based on district/ campus approval.)SCIENCE/ENGINEERING NIGHT CHAIR - Hire companies with exciting material, such as a large Telescope, and fun activities for early Spring event. (TBD based on district/ campus approval.)PARLIAMENTARIAN - Assists with parliamentary procedure during PTA meetings, maintains by-laws, organizes nomination committee and elections for elected board positions.ADVOCACY - Attend Capistrano Unified School District meetings and report information learned to the PTA board at the association meetings.ELAC CHAIR- English Learner Advisory Committee PTA liaison; attends quarterly ELAC meetings and shares information with the school and PTA on programs and services for English learners.CELEBRATION BOOK CLUB - Organize the purchase of books for student birthdays.HAWK OLYMPICS - Organize "Olympic" events for the school.
