The competition won must be a one-time event where the representative does not move on to compete for another title. In other words, it is not a like-pageant system where winners move to different levels and therefore are committed to be available for future responsibilities or competitions.

An advisor/director/parent may stand in to work with the candidate through the state competition.

Titles may include but not be limited to a local or fair or festival queen, talent show winner, dance competition, winner, etc..
