Community Outreach Chair, needed — Help spread the word about OLLI throughout Sarasota and Manatee counties. Committee members will have a presence at Sarasota Art Museum, area farmers’ markets, senior expos, and other events where we can promote our academic programs and membership.Curriculum Committee Chair, Jeff Ryder — Are you a lifelong learner? If you are, then you know how important it is to have a robust curriculum. Committee members review course proposals, conduct instructor orientation, review instructor evaluations, and serve as mentors to new instructors. This committee helps identify new instructors and suggests new program ideas. Subject matter experts in the areas of (literature, science, finance, history, art, music, etc.) to help with course selection.Membership Committee Chair, Tom Miller — A vibrant membership is essential to OLLI. Help to plan and implement activities that build, attract, and retain members. These activities include special events, community-building programs, and membership initiatives. The committee also publishes the monthly newsletter.Office Assistants Chair, Meghan Burrows — Here’s an opportunity to volunteer at the “nerve center” ⸺ OLLI’s main office where you can assist with course registrations, data entry, photocopying, and answering phone calls. You will provide customer service for fellow members. Training is required.OLLI Volunteer Committee Co-Chair, Martha Hill and Sue Miller — All hands-on deck! On this committee, you will be called on to help other programs and committees in various ways throughout the year. You will lend your assistance at special events as a greeter and assist other committees and programs, as needed.Shared Interest Groups, Chair, needed — Shared Interest Groups (SIGs) are open to Gold and Silver members. They foster a sense of community by allowing members to engage with others who share a common interest.Social Media Committee Chair, needed — If you’re comfortable using Facebook and other social media platforms, this committee is for you. Help is needed to write event and course promos, social media posts, and create videos.Tech Team Chair, Alan Freedman — Instructors…this teame is for you! Committee members train and assist new and returning instructors on how to navigate the Crestron computer system. Team member training is required.Welcome Committee Chair, needed — You will serve as a liaison between new and returning students to help ensure that our members have a positive OLLI experience. Responsibilities include welcoming newcomers to the Ringling College Museum Campus, giving classroom tours, answering questions about classes, instructors, special events, and more. It helps to have an outgoing personality!
