Flankers needed for the K9 Team, if interested please let us know.

A Flanker’s primary responsibility is ensuring the safety of both the handler and the K9 during field operations. The handler needs to concentrate fully on the K9’s behavior and signals during a search, while the Flanker acts as their eyes and ears. This includes identifying and calling out potential dangers or obstacles to the handler promptly.

In addition to safety, the Flanker manages communication between their K9 team and the Incident Commander (IC) while in the field, as well as navigation tasks to ensure smooth and effective operations.

Furthermore, Flankers are certified in Swift Water Operations, allowing them to safely operate and support search efforts in water environments.

Please be advised, Cincinnati Search & Recovery (CSAR) will perform a background check on all applicants. 

CSAR would be required to deploy in all types of weather conditions and terrain. Volunteers can see deceased or injured persons.

Release and Waiver of Liability 
This waiver covers all training, searches and Cincinnati Search and Recovery Unit activities. 
It is valid from August 1, 2022 – end of time.

I hereby release, waive, discharge and covenant not to sue the Cincinnati Search and Recovery Unit, land owners where we are training or searching, and any of the officers, servants, agents and employees of the above mentioned entities (herein referred to as RELEASEES), for any liability, claim and/or cause of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, injury, including death, that occurs as a result of my participation in the above-described in the above mentioned activities. 
 
I agree to indemnity and hold harmless the RELEASEES, whether injury is caused by my negligence, the negligence of the RELEASEES, or the negligence of any third party. I further agree that this Release and Waiver of Liability shall bind the members of my family and spouse if I am alive, and my heirs, assigns and personal representative. If I am deceased, this deems as a RELEASE, WAIVER, DISCHARGS AND 
COVENATN NOT TO SUE the above named RELEASEES. I HEREBY FURTHER AGREEE THAT THIS RELEASE AND Waiver of Liability shave be construed in accordance with the laws OF the state in which I am participating in a search or training.

Please note: Starting June 1, 2026, CSAR will have Membership Dues of $50 annually, due every January (within the 31 days). If you join CSAR, dues will not start until AFTER your orientation, plus if you join after May 31, you will only be required to pay $25 for that year, prior to May 31 will be the full amount. We do have a waiver if this will be a hardship for you, we understand times can get tough. If you feel this could be a hardship, you will speak with the treasurer.
