Literacy Buddy Project Application
Thank you for your interest in our early literacy program! We match volunteers with 3-year-old and 4-year-old children attending community preschools throughout Sarasota County. Since we target preschools serving high needs families, many of the children have limited access to books at home or in their communities. Literacy Buddy is a PenPal exchange of drawings, letters and books that happens three times during the school year: October, January and March. You can shop online and ship books directly to the preschool, or shop local and hand deliver your books to the Coalition office on 17th Street. Once we receive your application, we will send you a welcome email full of details!

By completing this application, I agree to receive drawings and letters from a child in an early learning center served by the Early Learning Coalition of Sarasota County. I will, in turn, send a letter and a high-quality book to this child in response to his or her drawing. This exchange will take place three times over the course of the school year.
