• Tattoo Aftercare

  • Taking care of your tattoo ensures it heals properly and makes sure it looks great long term. For the saniderm wrap, I recommend leaving it on for 24 hours to keep your fresh tattoo protected. Before you wash your tattoo, fluid may collect under the wrap. This is normal as plasma and excess ink comes out of the skin. Remove your wrap (pulling downward slowly) and wash the area with cool, soapy water. Gently pat the area dry with a clean towel and let your tattoo air dry. Do not rub the skin.

  • Your tattoo may continue to weep for up to 24 hours after your appointment. Do not apply lotion or cover your tattoo for the first day. Your tattoo needs to breathe. Wear loose breathable clothing and avoid vigorous activity for at least 24 hours. Continue to wash it at least twice a day for up to four weeks or until your tattoo is completely healed, and pat the area dry with a clean towel. Apply unscented lotion or other neutral moisturizer to the skin on a daily basis.

  • Be careful to avoid over moisturizing in the first few days. Your tattoo may scab or peel. This is part of the healing process. Do not remove the scab or pick at peeling skin as it may lift the ink. Showers are okay, but no baths or submerging your tattoo for two weeks. No pools, saunas, or swimming. Please avoid tanning beds. Protect your tattoo from direct sunlight.

  • I am not responsible for how your tattoo heals, it is your complete responsibility to care for your own tattoo. Touch-ups may be required as tattoos change with your body. It’s natural for tattoo ink to fade or fall out over time. I offer one free touch-up per tattoo. We want the tattoos to look their best for as long as possible. Please allow your tattoo to heal for at least one month before booking a touch-up appointment.
