Special Effects with Jess Rice

If you would like to loosen up your watercolors, or would like to learn different technqiues to paint a little looser this is the class for you. In this class I will show you how to use all the different special effects with your watercolors to create interesting results. Even if you are an absolulte beginner to watercolors I will walk you through the steps to create a beautiful painting. Or if you are a seasoned watercolor artists you will learn tons of new techniques in this course.

In the painting below I used a wide variety of special effects, from salt, to rubbing alchohol, from wax to scraping and splashing water to plastic wrap.

A sample of using splashing water is in the fur of this bear. I will show you how to maximize your special effects and where to use them effectively.

I often use a plastic card to scrape out rocks and tree bark, I really like how it worked in this painting.

If you be interested in this fun workshop please register below. All watercolor supplies are provided, but if you'd like to use your own supplies you are more than welcome to bring them along. We will paint for 2 hours and then take a 1/2 hour break for lunch. You can bring a lunch or there are several restuarants near by for great food.
