The training will be held from 10 AM - 3:30 PM on Saturday, September 10th and 10 AM - 2 PM on Sunday, September 11th. [Please note that we will have approximately one hour lunch breaks on each day.] The trainings will be conducted via Zoom.

  • Bay Area Doula Project's Mission

The Bay Area Doula Project is working towards a world in which people of all identities and families of all kinds and configurations have access to respectful, caring, and competent support in all their health care experiences, with a specific focus on abortion.

We believe that neither stigma nor fear should be barriers to seeking and receiving good health care. We believe that people’s bodies are their own, to do with what they choose. We believe in active and informed consent, free from coercion — physical, psychological, economic, or any other kind.

  • Cost of Training

We are suggesting a sliding scale of $99-150 for the full training series (2 days). This breaks down to around $50-75 per session.

We trust that you know your finances better than anyone. Please pay what works for you. No one will be turned away for a lack of funds. If you are facing economic hardship and need to pay less or nothing at all, we can accommodate your needs.

With that in mind, we greatly appreciate you considering contributing financially in whatever way you can; your contribution covers the basic costs of the training, without which it could not happen, and thereby makes these trainings more sustainable and accessible to others.

  • Application Process

The application period will close at midnight (Pacific Time) on Wednesday, August 24th.

While we will aim to invite as many people as possible in the training, due to the limitations of hosting trainings on Zoom, we may choose to cap the number of participants to better encourage a thoughtful and interactive space for all attendees.

We will begin reviewing applications as they come in, and we will contact selected attendees by Thursday, September 1st in order to allow at least 10 days before the training begins.
