You have been appointed a courier of Department of Defense classified material. You are responsible for taking all precautions necessary to ensure its safe delivery to the addressee indicated on the package.
Your travel has been scheduled so that there are no overnight stops enroute to your destination. You are to keep the classified package(s) in your possession at all times until delivered to the authorized recipient. The consumption of intoxicating beverages or the use of non-prescription controlled substances is forbidden while classified material is in your possession. Under no circumstances may classified information be included in unaccompanied luggage; or deposited in hotel safes, luggage lockers, or in automobile trunks or glove compartments. The package(s) may not be opened by other than the authorized recipient. The contents may not be read or reviewed in public places, nor should you identify yourself as a courier to anyone other than authorized Government officials.
If you should lose control of the classified material while traveling, immediately notify the nearest Field Office of the FBI, and Security Officials at deciBel Research, Inc.
Obtain signed receipt for the classified material when you deliver it to the authorized recipient.
If your travel is by air, you will present the package(s) to the Airline Security Officials at the inspection point. There should be no difficulty in boarding the aircraft with the package(s If there is difficulty, ask to speak to the FAA or Senior Airport Security personnel.
If Security Officials insist on opening the package(s) before permitting you to board the aircraft, do not take the flight, and call the deciBel Security Official.
In the event you are aboard a commercial passenger aircraft that is hijacked and lands in a foreign country, you shall conduct yourself as follows:
If identification is required, show appropriate civilian identification. Do not, under any conditions, volunteer that you possess classified material. If questioned or interrogated in a foreign country, common sense judgment shall be used in making any responses, but you shall not under any circumstance reveal classified information. Attempt to maintain physical possession of the classified material at all times not forsaking personal safety. On return to the United States, report the incident to the Facility Security Officer, who will report the matter to the Cognizant Security Office.
