Client Safety and Etiquette
Please keep your pet leashed to ensure their safety, as well as that of our other clients. Please allow your pet to potty before their appointment. You may wait in our waiting area for your pet, however, because of our open concept design, this may excite your pet, and others we may be working on at the time. Please avoid talking to your pet while he/she is on the table. We work with very sharp tools and want to keep your pet as safe as possible.
Cancelations and Late Arrivals
We work on dogs on an “in and out” basis. It is pertinent that you are on time for your appointment. If you are more than 10 minutes late, we may have to reschedule your appointment in which case you will be charged half of your pet’s normal grooming fee if you would like to reschedule. We book a specific time block to take care of your pet and if you are late it will affect all appointments after yours.
If you cancel with less than 48 hours of your appointment or you “no-show” your appointment, you will be charged half of your pet’s normal grooming fee. Customers with repeated same day cancellations will be required to prepay for future appointments in full.
We would like to take this time to remind you that this is our lively-hood and when you don’t show up we lose the income we need for our own personal bills. We do understand emergency’s happen, and your individual situation will be considered. Please call us if you will be late, or cannot make your appointment.
If you are not given a pick-up time, please wait for our phone call. Your pet will be very excited to see you and if we are not finished with his/her grooming, we will have to either wait until they settle down, or send your pet home unfinished for their own safety. We pride ourselves on only taking one appointment at a time and we do not have the space on the premises to board dogs. We will call you approximately 10 minutes before your pet is ready to be picked up. Pets must be picked up within one hour of that phone call, or we reserve the right to charge a $25 boarding fee. In the event you do not pick up your dog before shop closing, your dog will be boarded off-location and billed $100/night.
In the event of an emergency, we will contact you and take your pet to the nearest veterinary office for treatment. In the event you are not able to be contacted, Bark N’ Bubbles will act as your agent for the care of your pet. All vet expenses will be the
responsibility of the pet owner unless injury is due to direct negligence of the groomer. We will not be held responsible for any sickness or injury caused by the pet to itself during grooming, or any accidental death of the pet due to a pre-existing health condition or natural disaster.
Pricing will vary greatly between breeds, and even dogs of the same breed. Temperament, age, size, weight, coat condition, style and frequency of grooming will all be factors in determining your pets price. The estimated quoted price of grooming is a base price for dogs on a six week schedule with 2" of coat or less. The groomer reserves the right to charge extra fees for coat condition, handling a difficult pet or excessive matting. The groomer reserves the right to charge a full coat fee for dogs with excessive coat for hand scissoring.
Health and Behavior: You agree to disclose any health or behavior issues that could affect the grooming process. You will be held liable for any bites that require medical treatment and any property damage caused by your pet. If your pet is unable to be groomed safely, we reserve the right to refuse service. Please understand that this is for the best interest of your pet as well as our own. Any harm caused by your pet to any person, animal or property is your responsibility.
Matting: If your pet is severely matted we may not be able to accommodate the style you would like your pet to have. We stick strictly to “humanity before vanity” when it comes to your pet. We will not rip, pull and brush out mats that may cause pain to your excessively matted pet. In the event of matting, we will try to save as much hair as possible. If there is excessive matting, we will need to carefully shave under the mats. The process can be painful for your pet, and may result in skin irritation, nicks, cuts, and bruises due to the matted hair pulling on the skin.. Heavy matting may also conceal pre-existing conditions, such as fungal or bacterial infections. We will do our best to minimize discomfort to your pet, but we are not responsible for any inures or medical issues due to this process.
We will be happy to give your pet a fresh start hair cut, show you how to properly maintain their coat, and get you on a grooming schedule so that you may have the style you would like.
Please note: not all dogs tolerate longer styles and we ask that you keep the best interest of your pet in mind when selecting their haircut. There are additional fees for severely matted pets. This includes coat removal and/or prolonged brushing.
Fleas/Ticks: If you suspect your pet has fleas, please notify us and contact your vet for flea prevention medication prior to your appointment. Dogs with more than three live fleas will be given a mandatory flea bath with a $25/50/75 charge depending on the dog's size. Ticks, up to a quantity of 5, will be removed. Excessive infestations will be referred out to your vet for removal and after care.
In-tact: We accept intact pets, however we ask that you reschedule your appointment if your female is in heat. Their scent can excite other dogs, and it is also messy for us as your groomers. Please watch your in-tact males for marking when you are in our waiting area and inform us of any “accidents”
Vaccinations: Pennsylvania Law (Chapter 16 Rabies Prevention and Control Subchapter C§ 16.43. Revaccination) Requires your pet (over 3 months) be vaccinated against Rabies. By agreeing to this policy you confirm that your pet is up-to-date on their rabies vaccine and you are able to produce physical proof from your veterinarian upon request. Any other vaccines are considered voluntary and you resume the risks involved with having an unvaccinated pet.
