The primary duties of the Studio Assistant are to aid Studio Artists in creating artwork, assist in maintaining a well-functioning and engaging studio environment, and to work collaboratively with fellow staff and volunteers to support the Studio’s mission. .

Support the organization’s mission and values as well as the goals of studio programs

Assist in conceptualizing and creating artwork in support of and in collaboration with Studio Artists

Direct support of Studio Artists during studio class time

Preparation and cleanup for studio classes

Organization and maintenance of studio space and equipment

Maintain a supportive, positive, and engaging studio environment

Assist in preparing artwork for sale or display

Contribute to the research, preparation, and execution of special projects and virtual programs when needed, including but not limited to:
>Exhibitions, events, and fundraisers
>Collaborations with local and regional artists
>Personalized inspiration and instruction for Studio Artists

Assist in directing and supporting volunteers

Attend special studio events (expect very occasional weekend, night time, or seasonal hours)
Requirements:

Experience working in the arts, arts education, community arts, or/and nonprofit sector

Familiarity with a working studio environment and the creative process

Working knowledge of artistic principles and processes

Ability to utilize or willingness to learn a broad range of artistic techniques, tools, and materials

Ability to be adaptable and flexible in a dynamic classroom and studio environment

Comfortable working collaboratively with a diverse group of adult artists

Working knowledge of Zoom, Facetime, and Google Suite
