• Western States Trail Reconditioning Project - Volunteer Application

To participate in trail work days on the Western States (Tevis Cup) Trail
  • The Western States Trail Foundation (WSTF) continues to make a strong commitment to preserving and improving the trail system.  We must do so in a manner that meets landowner requirements, balances local, state, and federal agency priorities, embraces public use by all user groups, promotes safety during both recreational use and maintenance activities, respects historic conditions, and complies with applicable state and federal rules and regulations.

Please add your name to our list and we will reach out to you once we have more specifics about times and locations.

We expect to have trail work dates scheduled starting October 2022 and running through May 2023.

For the 2022/2023 effort, we’ll be focusing on the trail between Last Chance and Michigan Bluff (the first two canyons) and from Foresthill to Francisco’s (Cal Loop).  Work will also be done in other locations.  In future years we plan to expand efforts until we have comprehensively reconditioned the portions of the trail that need it.
