The New School for Music Study is a nationally recognized leading institution for music education. It serves over 300 students and maintains a faculty of over 20 piano teachers as well as national teacher education programs. It is a highly collaborative, collegial, and inclusive faculty environment, focused upon the effective instruction of every student. All faculty members are active performers, and many are prominent presenters and researchers in the field of piano pedagogy. The faculty are supported by the administrative leadership team that manages all school enrollment and business.
Position Description:
The position includes the following responsibilities:
-Teach individual weekly piano lessons to a range of learners including pre-college and adult students, ranging from elementary to advanced
-Participate in school recitals and programs
-Contribute to the growth and development of the school’s programs and initiatives
-Participate in professional development and teacher education
Salary
Competitive with nonprofit community music school scale and commensurate with experience.
Qualifications
-Master’s degree in piano, piano pedagogy, related discipline or equivalent experience
-Minimum of 3 years prior teaching experience
-Record of success working with students of a range of levels in individual and group piano instruction
