    One video file of a collaborative performance with a singer is required with your application. The video must have been made within 12 months of the application deadline.

  • Professional References

    Two artistic authorities with whom you have worked and who may act as professional references. No written recommendations are accepted.

  • Audition Requirements

    Pianist/coach applicants granted an audition must choose ONE option from EACH of the following five categories. All selections are to be PLAYED AND SUNG by the applicant. Sight Reading will be included in the audition.

    • EITHER the Act 1 finale from Così fan tutte OR the Act 2 finale from Le nozze di Figaro
    • A brief secco recitative from a Mozart opera
    • Tarquinius' Ride from The Rape of Lucretia by Britten
    • An aria or scene from an opera by Puccini or Richard Strauss
    • One aria from a Bel Canto opera
    • One art song

    Please note: Merola Opera Program does not permit audition swapping. If you are unable to attend your assigned audition, please contact auditions@merola.org for assistance.
