Presenter:
Dr. Sara Kathleen Henry is the founder and editor-in-chief at Heartful Editor, a team of 50+ doctorate-educated academic writing coaches and editors, many of whom work as faculty and/or administrators in student affairs and higher education. In addition to working with individual students and faculty, Heartful Editor supports 25+ campuses through partnerships designed to help scholars find their voice, strengthen their writing, and make a difference in the world through their research. Sara credits her expertise in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) to her mother, a reference librarian who taught Sara the nuances of APA when she was 12 years old.
Prior to Heartful Editor, Sara held administrative positions in student affairs and higher education at the University of California (San Diego), California State University (Humboldt and Sacramento), the California Community Colleges, and Portland State University. She maintains active participation in ACPA and NASPA and works in partnership with both associations to support the writing skill development for scholars of all skill levels through academic writing coaching and editing.
Sara is a minimalist, a world traveler, an avid reader, a wellness enthusiast, and a practitioner of Pilates. She and her husband, Dennis, live in a historic midcentury modern home in the Marlen Grove neighborhood of Phoenix, AZ, with their two Havanese, Cuba and Morocco.
