Live in Volunteer Program
Our live-in volunteer program is designed to allow people seeking adventure in Siargao to have a meaningful impact on the community while enjoying everything the island has to offer, and experiencing Siargao from an authentic, local perspective.
If you want to experience the real siargao, while making a difference on your holiday, this is the program for you.
The Details:
- Volunteers will live in Sun Crew HQ, located in the surf town of Pacifico.
- Volunteers will propose a project/program for kids that they expect to complete at the end of intended stay. This program is subject for approval to see if it will fit in with current program and needs of the school.
- Volunteers will be expected to contribute an average of 4 hours of work per day throughout their stay.
- Volunteers are expected to help in the upkeep/cleanliness of the Sun Crew house and follow house rules.
Volunteer investment in the experience of a life-time:
Volunteers will be charged a small fee to cover the cost of accommodation and excursions, and sponsoring the snacks for children participating in our programs during the course of your stay.
- 500PHP ($8 USD) per day or
- 12,000PHP ($200 USD) per month
Our volunteer fee covers the costs of your stay, allowing us to invest our funds in delivering high-quality programs for the children of Siargao. To put this in perspective, the minimum fee for a hostel 12-bed dorm in Pacificio is 800 pesos per person/night. As part of our volunteer crew, you will be staying in a premium location for a very small price and contributing to building brighter futures for the children of Siargao.
The Inclusions:
- Accommodation in a 2-person air-conditioned dorm room with two shared bathrooms.
- Discount on surfboard rentals, lessons and food at Pacifico Surf School
- Weekly cultural/ environmental excursion to Siargao's hidden gems.
Volunteers will also be invited to participate in optional affordable excursions, tours and social activities at their own additional expense.
Volunteers will be required to sign a waiver and agree to the Sun crew Child Protection Policy before starting work.
