Areas to choose from

• Any area, no preference (If you choose this option you will be assigned to any of the areas).&#13;&#10;&#13;&#10;• Art Studio (sanding and finishing Buddha statues and Temple adornments). Please note not suitable for people with sensitivity to dust!&#13;&#10;&#13;&#10;• Building and general maintenance (repairs for both inside and outside the building). For those with experience only. &#13;&#10;&#13;&#10;• Cafe (serving customers, food and drink preparation, coffee making, cleaning).&#13;&#10;&#13;&#10;• Gardening (not in winter time).&#13;&#10;&#13;&#10;• Household (Preparing rooms for guests, laundry, cleaning...).&#13;&#10;&#13;&#10;• Kitchen (helping to cook for the community, cleaning and food prep, helping with special events).&#13;&#10;&#13;&#10;• Kadampa Internet (only occasionally needed: photography and video production, social media and marketing, wordpress, programming, webdesign etc).&#13;&#10;&#13;&#10;• Painting and decorating (refurbishing rooms, updating decor and fixing paintwork). For those with experience only.&#13;&#10;&#13;&#10;• Tharpa Publications and Distribution (Picking, packing, dispatching books, Graphic & UX design, design projects for those with experience only)&#13;&#10;&#13;&#10;• Temple and Educational assistant (cleaning the meditation room, doing offerings, putting publicity out in town...)

Important information

If you are not a UK or Irish Passport holder you will have a limit to the days you can volunteer or undertake paid work while in the UK. The maximum days you can do paid or unpaid on a tourist visa in the UK is 30 actual working days.

Please note: If you are travelling on a TOURIST VISA which will be automatically given if you haven't applied for a specific visa, you are only able to volunteer for a total of 30 days during your stay in the UK.

I will respect the Community Life - We ask that all our volunteers follow some basic principals of living within a Buddhist community, namely; not to drink alcohol, take drugs, smoke, vape, or eat meat/fish on the premises. During my visit I agree to comply with the Centre's rules, particularly concerning the supervisors, working hours and my behaviour.
