  • This internship should be a mutually beneficial and respectful effort to improve our organization while also giving the intern an opportunity to grow professionally.

    The requirements of this intern position will vary based on the intern’s schedule and, if applicable, the expectations of their internship advisors. What follows is a general overview of what we think will make for a successful and rewarding internship. We will not expect interns to work during their finals or during official breaks according to their university.

    For this internship, we will be able to offer a $1,500 stipend. The stipend will be issued in two installments, one after week 7 and one after week 15. This internship will last 10 hours per week for 15 weeks beginning on or around September 5, 2023. This internship coincides with the SBTT’s holiday fundraiser in December and, ideally, the intern would be able to participate in this event.

    Internship Responsibilities:
    - Supporting the Program Director and studio staff in fulfilling the organization’s mission and the goals of studio programs.
    - Assist studio staff in conceptualizing and creating artwork in support of and in collaboration with Studio By The Tracks (SBTT) artists
    - Assist with prep, cleanup, and organization for adult classes
    - Assist in preparing artwork for sale or display
    - Help maintain a supportive, positive studio environment
    - Assist with youth program curriculum and class as needed
    - Assist with preparation and execution of Holiday Open House, SBTT’s annual holiday fundraising event.
    - Contribute to research, preparation, and execution of special projects and other duties as necessary.

    Studio Intern Requirements:
    - Interest in working in the arts, arts education, community arts, or/and nonprofit sector to create a better community
    - Familiarity with a working studio environment and the creative process
    - Working knowledge of basic artistic principles and processes
    - Willingness to explore a broad range of artistic techniques, tools, and materials
    - Ability to be adaptable and flexible in a dynamic classroom and studio environment
    - Comfortable working collaboratively with a diverse group of adults and children
    - Familiar with Zoom, Facetime, and Google Suite
    - Adhere to the core values listed on SBTT’s website
