Thank you for your interest in providing a lifelong home for one of our cats. The completion of this questionnaire is the first step toward what we hope will be many years of happiness for both you and our rescue cat. Once you have answered all the questions, one of our board members will review your application and may have a few follow-up questions to ask.
Submitting an adoption application to Tiny Paws & Big Hearts Rescue does not commit the applicant to that adoption nor guarantee adoption approval of the specified or any adoptable cat listed with Tiny Paws & Big Hearts Rescue. We seek the best match of personality, temperament, and home environment for our cats and future adoptive families. We are looking out for the best interests of our cats. We realize that some outcomes may be disappointing please understand that we want the best fit for our cats.
If your application is approved. you will be asked to sign a legally binding contract when adopting your cat.
Fees may be paid by cash or PayPal.
All adoption fees go directly towards providing medical care, food, litter and shelter for our rescued cats. The adoption fees often do not even cover the costs of the care we provide each cat.
Once the paperwork has been completed and the adoption fee is paid, you will be able to take your new companion home. You will need to provide a carrier for transport. We may contact you after the adoption to follow up and ensure your cat is settling in well.
Conditions of adoption:
- You must have a valid identification showing your current address and your age.
- You must be at least 21 to adopt.
- If you are renting, we will need a copy of your lease that shows that you are permitted to have a pet and have paid the required deposit.
- If you own your home, we do verify home ownership.
- You must be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and proper care for a cat.
- For the first 14 days, please keep cat separated and confined to one area; you should not expose your other animals in the home to this cat until you bring the cat to the vet for an initial checkup.
- You must be willing to provide a life-long commitment to the care and well-being of your cat.
- We do not allow or disallow adoptions based on an individual's race, gender, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, age or disability.
