Kitchen Fables: writing and recipes shared around the table
This summer, we are coming together to create our third community cookbook featuring writing, art, and recipes! We are asking you to submit a piece of writing or art and/or a favorite recipe.
Write about your experiences with food and meals! Here are a few prompts to get started:
- Describe your favorite or least favorite meal.
- Write about a scent that instantly reminds you of a particular dish or cooking experience. How does this scent trigger memories and emotions?
- Paint a picture of your kitchen while preparing a meal.
- Describe a food that always makes you happy.
- Reflect on a taste from your past that has stayed with you. What emotions and memories does it evoke? How do you recreate or reimagine this taste in your own cooking?
- Share a favorite family recipe along with the story of how it has been passed down through generations.
- What memories or traditions are associated with a favorite dish that makes it special?
- Describe a special meal that celebrates a significant occasion in your life or your community.
- Write a fable about a kitchen where ingredients come to life and share their tales.
- Write about the very first meal you remember cooking or sharing with someone.
