Covid 19 Child Care Contract Addendum UPDATED 08/11/2022
Hello, BBDS Families!
I hope you are having a great week. Many of you know that the Covid vaccine is now available for kiddos 6 months and up. Since becoming available we have had some of our kiddos get vacccinated. We have had time to observe the response of those vaccinated and based on that information our leadership team has decided to continue kiddos stay home one full day after they receive their Covid shot. This is new territory for us and we want to make sure all of our kiddos feel supported and are up to attend. Please reach out to your lead teacher, Miss Ashley or myself with questions. Finally, take a moment to review the updated BBDS Covid Addendum and then sign below to indicate you have read and agreed to these policies.
Have a great day!
BBDS Covid Addendum
- Families agree that should they choose to vacinate their child(ren) for Covid 19 they will keep their child(ren) home from care for one full day after receiving vaccination.
- Each family commits too and assures us that they are following Wisconsin’s social distancing guidelines.
- All individuals 2 years and up will not be required to wear masks indoors or outdoors.
- Families assure that they will not send their children to child care if anyone in the household is displaying any of the following symptoms – including runny noses (more than 6 wipes per hour), coughing, sore throat, headaches, rashes, vomiting, diarrhea, temp over 100, trouble breathing or if anyone in their household displays symptoms of Covid 19. Any child that has any of the above symptoms will be asked to stay at home until they are SYMPTOM FREE for 24 hours (or 1 full day) without medication. Please remember NO MEDICATIONS can be administered to mask these symptoms.
- If someone in your household has been exposed to Covid-19 and is considering getting a test, or awaiting results, please keep your child(ren) home and inform your Lead Teacher and Sarah Tuttle of the situation. Care decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis with guidance from public health guidelines.
Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures:
- We will do drop off and pick up outside as much as possible. We are excited to allow parent drop-offs inside at this time.
- By bringing your child, you will guarantee that all health criteria (listed above) are observed and met each morning.
- Text us any information you would like to share about your child’s evening/morning or if there are any schedule changes or feel free to call during nap time to talk.
- Explain the drop-off procedures to your child ahead of time.
- Tip: use the drive to school to as your “goodbye time.”
- If you have any drop-off routines/rituals, talk about how those will be different and ask for suggestions from your child.
- Make sure they understand that you will be staying outside or just inside the door. Please make your time inside short and sweet.
- Staff & children’s shoes will remain just inside the door or outside depending on the BBDS program you attend.
- Children will wash their hands immediately upon arrival in the bathroom or use hand sanitizer if outside before they are free to go play.
Special eating considerations at school:
- Each child will have individual meals, snacks, and drinks – we will not serve family style meals. We will allow families to bring in Birthday treats.
- We will not share utensils, drink ware, plates or serving tools.
Special diapering/potty considerations at school:
- Diaper changing and potty surfaces will be disinfected after each use as well as the counter and sink.
- We will continue to change soiled clothing at BBDS and send them home to be washed. Please make sure your child has ample appropriate clothing at school.
Special napping considerations at school:
- Each child will continue to have their own bedding.
- Bedding will continue to be stored separately when not in use so it does not come in contact with other children’s bedding and washed after 5 uses or immediately when soiled.
- Cots and cribs will be spaced as far apart as possible from others. We will separate children in different rooms if possible in order to maintain safe distances.
We will continue to disinfect areas that children and adults are coming into contact with at regular intervals throughout the day, as well as before and after the children are present. These will include door handles, light switches, sink handles, mouthed toys (set aside immediately until disinfected), cubbies, cots, etc.
Care may be discontinued if any staff or enrolled children need to self-isolate due to Covid 19 symptoms. We are obligated by law to follow any licensing, accreditation and governmental agency mandates.
Over the past months, we have observed the deep commitment our families and teachers have made in keeping one another safe and our goal is to continue the success we have had during this time. Please remember that we are all family at Bright Beginnings Day School and we are accountable to one another.
We hope that by working together we can continue to provide a safe, loving and fun place for your children to play and learn, while you are working.
