    Please take some time to look at the questions and respond with as much detail as possible. 

    All events have risks. A risk assessment is the process of identifying what hazards exist, or may appear at your event, how they may cause harm and to take steps to minimise harm.

    Remember, these forms will be approved by humans, not computers so you may be asked to qualify some claims.

  • 1.What is the Likelihood of there being SLIPS, TRIPS or FALLS?

  • 2.What is the Likelihood of there being DAMAGE OF OBJECTS at your event?

    This includes the falling, breaking or damaging of equipment at your event or the harm of a person at your event caused by an object or piece of equipment, including machinery handling.

  • 3.What is the Likelihood of there being any FIRE HAZARDS pertaining to the event?

    This could include the use of electrical items, combustible materials etc.

  • 4.What is the Likelihood of the ENVIRONMENT your event takes place in cause any potential harm?

    Including exposure to harmful levels of noise or vibration, working at heights, exposure to chemicals or hazardous substances, unsuitable lighting levels, inadequate thermal environment or potential electrical hazards.

  • 5. Does your event involve FOOD and are there any potential ALLERGEN or HYGIENE hazards?

  • 6.What is the Likelihood of risks to the PERSONAL SAFETY of attendees?

    This could include the location of your venue and the immediate space around it as well as inside.

  • 7.What is the Likelihood of any risks to ORGANISATIONAL REPUTATION of your society, BCUSU or Birmingham City University?
