About the Program:
After-School Nature Play Days focuses on nature exploration and appreciation. Participants will work on crafts, and each month culminates in a festival for Prairie Flower families and alumni at the end of each month (end-of-October festival will be Oct. 29, 3-5 pm).
Start Date and Run Times:
After-School Nature Play Days is currently running, through October 31.
The only day currently open for enrollment is Mondays, 3-5:15 p.m. (Tuesday and Thursdays are full.)
Location:
The group will meet at Emma McCarthy Lee Park (Tuesdays) and the Children's Peace Garden at Root to Rise Farm, behind Alluvial Brewing Company (Mondays and Thursdays).
- Emma McCarthy Lee Park has a stunning playscape with an abundance of shade, shallow water and all the offerings of stone, clay and sand. The playground and shelters near the south parking lot are appreciated as well.
- The Children's Peace Garden at Alluvial's Root to Rise Farm also has several play areas. The site features a generous water station, a hammock, a climbing structure, a living tent and trellis tunnel, a giant nest and all the activities that go along with tending the garden itself.
Parents or caregivers transport children to the program. You are welcome to make carpool arrangements together, if needed and it works for you.
Teacher: Miss Emily Rose
