This is the official agreement for Placenta Encapsulation Services between D. Unique Doula - Alternative & Holistic Reproductive Services and, CLIENT (S):

Why would someone choose to ingest their placenta?
Placenta encapsulation offers several potential benefits for new mothers, especially during the postpartum period. Many choose this process to:

• Support Hormonal Balance: Encapsulating the placenta may help rebalance hormones after birth, reducing the chances of mood swings or postpartum depression.
• Boost Energy Levels: The nutrients and hormones found in the placenta can provide a natural energy boost, helping new mothers feel more energized as they recover from childbirth.
• Aid in Milk Production: Placenta capsules are thought to support lactation, promoting better milk supply and breastfeeding success.
• Promote Healing: The placenta contains growth factors that may help promote healing of the uterus and reduce postpartum bleeding.
• Reduce Postpartum Depression: Many women report a decrease in the risk or severity of postpartum depression, thanks to the hormone balancing properties of placenta encapsulation.

D. Unique Doula provides two placenta services to meet your needs:

Placenta Powder: Ideal for those who prefer not to take pills. The placenta is cleaned and ground, allowing you to consume it in various ways such as smoothies, drinks, or other options of your choice. Best enjoyed in a smoothie.

Placenta Encapsulation: This method involves cleaning, steaming, dehydrating, and grinding the placenta into a powder, which is then formed into capsules. You can choose between plain or flavored capsules.

Now offering at-home services! If you’re interested in being part of the encapsulation process, we can bring the experience to you, allowing you to get hands-on.

You may select plain or strawberry flavored as an option for your placenta capsules. All items are add ons (except plain).

Placenta prints are a safe and beautiful way to preserve the memory of your placenta. Due to its unique structure, we recommend choosing 2-3 colors to create a more vivid and clear image of the print. A rainbow option is also available!

Please note: if you choose a placenta print without selecting colors, the print will be made using placenta blood. While this method will still allow you to see the print, it may not be as visually clear as one created with added colors.

Waistbeads

Waistbeads are worn by wombmen who have become more aware of themselves. The waistbeads aid in weight tracking, overeating, and body posture. They can also be known for sacred practices and principles to align with the divine feminine. Different colors represent different benefits.

Crystal Necklaces / Bracelets

These stones were thoughtfully chosen for their healing properties during the postpartum period. Crystals have long been revered for their ability to uplift the spirit, enhance emotional well-being, and shift perspectives, guiding you toward peace and balance during this sacred time of transformation.

Sage|Palo Santo $5 each

In welcoming a new baby into your home you may like to cleanse the space with some white sage; banishes negative energies and offer protection, blessing and cleansing to anyone and anything that the smoke touches.  

Instructions:

• After the agreement is signed and fees are paid (50% deposit, remaining balance due before delivery of capsules), the process will proceed. Please note that all fees are non-refundable.
• A $25 travel fee will be added for any address located more than 20 miles from the 77489 zip code/Missouri City, TX.
• Please send a text message to 346-774-4416 when you go into labor to notify D. Unique Doula.
  
  Hospital:
• When you arrive at the hospital, inform them immediately that you will be taking your placenta. Be sure to sign an "Organ Release" form to ensure that the placenta is not sent to pathology.
• Once the baby is born, please send another text with the room number. The hospital will package the placenta and provide ice if needed.
• D. Unique Doula will be there within 2 hours after birth to pick up the placenta.
• Please bring a small cooler to place the placenta in until we arrive!

Home or Birth Center:

• Once the placenta has arrived, send a text message to notify D. Unique Doula.
• Package the placenta in a gallon-sized Ziploc bag and a cooler.
• Place it in the fridge until pick-up; the placenta can be safely stored at room temperature for up to 2 1/2 hours after delivery.
• D. Unique Doula will be there within hours after birth to pick up the placenta. If you deliver in the middle of the night, please text first thing in the morning to arrange for pick-up. 

**Disclaimers:**

• Your capsules will be delivered back to you within 72-96 hours from pick-up, often sooner.
• If the client decides to release the placenta to the hospital for testing after signing the agreement, the deposit will not be refunded. Please notify D. Unique Doula ASAP if this decision is made.
• If the client fails to notify for placenta pick-up, the deposit is non-refundable.
• While hospitals may attempt to keep the placenta for testing, you have the right to refuse testing and take your placenta. Be sure to ask the hospital to document your refusal in your medical chart.
• Placenta encapsulation fees are non-refundable, whether paid in full or in part, regardless of the placenta's condition upon delivery, or if the placenta cannot be kept due to client decision, hospital protocol, or Texas law (such as testing for HIV or Hepatitis B/C).
