• Education Grant Application
CSSANZ Members are encouraged to apply for funding for educational and training
initiatives via the CSSANZ / Medtronic Educational Grants.
    Details of grants available here.

  • Visiting Colorectal Surgeon: grant supports a 2+ day visit to Australian/NZ cities with 2+ CSSANZ members. Applications require a preferred surgeon (preferably CSSANZ colorectal), reasons for their benefit to local training, and a draft agenda. Assessment prioritizes application quality, educational value, number of involved CSSANZ members/trainees, and recent local educational opportunities. Medtronic covers the visiting surgeon's travel, accommodation, and living expenses. A local CSSANZ member must organize the visit and submit a report.

  • Members Education Fund: The recipient will recieve a maximum grant: $10,000 AUD. Airline allowance: $5,000 AUD (USA/Europe), $2,500 AUD (Asia). Priority will be given to proposals that demonstrate a focus on the acquisition of knowledge that will be directly transferred to patient care in colorectal surgery.

  • Workshop Fund: This grant is not for profit-making workshops. If a registration fee is charged, it must only cover workshop costs. Medtronic should be the primary, ideally sole, sponsor.

  • Travel Fellowship: ANZTBCRS Fellows presenting at ACPGBI, ASCRS, ESCP, or other approved international meetings are eligible for travel fellowships (acknowledging CSSANZ/Medtronic support). Amounts are: $1,000 AUD (non-podium), $3,000 AUD (clinical fellow podium), and $5,000 AUD (research fellow podium). Applicants must be current or recent (within 12 months) ANZTBCRS Fellows.

  • Named CME Speaker: The chosen speaker will receive funds of up to $20,000 AUD to cover expenses such as airfares, accommodation, airport transfers, meal allowance, registration, official functions, and other reasonable expenses associated with the engagement.
