Registration Fee
An annual, non-refundable registration fee of $175.00 per family is due upon enrollment in order to ensure a spot for your child at Spokane Montessori School for the school year.
Tuition
The monthly tuition rate as stated in your financial agreement is due on the 1st day of each month and is an advance payment for that month (i.e. the October 1st payment is for October). When there is more than one child in the family enrolled full time, there is a 10% discount on the second child’s tuition. Once the tuition is paid for any month, the funds then become non-refundable and are applied towards current school expenses.
You will receive an invoice via Quickbooks 10 days prior to the 1st. You are welcome to pay tuition one of two ways - online with an ACH bank transfer or with a check. A late fee of $50.00 will be charged for payments received after the 3rd of the month. Should the 3rd occur on a Saturday or Sunday, then tuition will be due the Friday before the 3rd . Additionally, a return check charge of $35.00 will be charged for any check returned for non-payment. Failure to make a payment for one month will necessitate withdrawing your child from the school. Please talk with the director if you are having temporary problems with payments.
Additional hours can be purchased to pay for those times when you need to leave your child beyond contracted hours. The cost is $10.00 per hour. Overtime can be paid at the time of service or in one separate check at the end of the month. You are responsible for tracking additional hours and paying for them
Monthly tuition is reviewed on an annual basis. Spokane Montessori North reserves the right to change tuition rates with a minimum of 60 days notice.
Withdrawing your Child or Changing Schedules
If you wish to withdraw your child at any time you must give 15 days written notice. If 15 days notice is not provided prior to the end of the month, you will be required to pay tuition in full for the next calendar month.
If you wish to change your child’s schedule from a longer class time to a shorter class time you must give 15 days written notice. If you fail to do so you will be billed for the longer class time. We will be pleased to support your family in a transition from one program to the next by 1) speaking with your child’s new caregiver 2) preparing them with any new skills they may need to have at their new school (if possible) 3) preparing an evaluation that will allow your child’s new caregiver to see where your child is at developmentally 4) to give them a positive send off onto their new adventure!
10 Month Program vs 12 Month Program
Spokane Montessori School North is a “year round” school, meaning we are open and encourage you to bring your children for the full twelve months. Due to the fact that many of you enjoy taking some time in the summer we offer a 10 month program beginning the day after Labor Day in September and ending June 30th. All ten months must be paid in full. If your child is enrolled in the ten month program and will be returning in the fall, then September tuition is due by July 1st and becomes non-refundable once paid. This payment will ensure September placement. For those enrolled in the twelve month program, there will be no pre-payment needed for September.
Holidays and Breaks
Monthly tuition rates are determined by the average cost of operating the school for the year, therefore, this is a flat rate, with no decrease in tuition for holidays, breaks or other brief closures during the academic year.
Illnesses and Absences
We do not deduct tuition for brief illnesses or absences, including vacations.
Late Pick Ups
Our school closes at 5:00 pm. If there is an emergency, please phone the school so the closing staff person is informed. The fee is $1.00 per minute and should be paid directly to the staff person kept after hours. If you do not pay the staff person you will receive a bill reflecting the amount due.
Unexpected Closures
There will be no refunds of tuition as a result of closure due to external and/or environmental circumstances beyond the schools control.
