Bellami Extension After Care
1. Wash Your Extensions Correctly
•Section hair in between wefts and wash thoroughly. Always shampoo twice and condition in shower only, do not submerge hair into bath tub or wash/dry upside down. This will cause tangling and matting.
•Do NOT wash daily, 2 times per week MAX
•Only use recommended professional products(shampoo, conditioner, heat protectant, hair oil) absolutely no sulfates, parabens, or alcohol based products.
•Recommended brands (Amika, Matrix Length Goals, Moroccan Oil, Verb, Brazilian Bond Builder)
HAIR EXTENSIONS NEED TO BE OILED EVERYDAY ON THE ENDS. They can not get the oils from your scalp like your real hair.
DO NOT SHAMPOO HAIR WITH HOT WATER, WARM WATER ONLY
DO NOT SPRAY STYLING PRODUCTS DIRECTLY ONTO OR UNDER YOUR WEFTS AT THE ROOT. This will cause major product build up and shorten the longevity of your beads.
•No high ponytails or any tight hairstyles. ABSOLUTELY NO bobby-pins or claw lips into the wefts. Make sure to put in between if needed, not into the acual beaded weft area. Hair should only be pulled back in a scrunchy, no pony tail holders.
2. Never Sleep With Wet Extensions
•Let extensions air dry to 80% and then blow dry on low heat. Temperature on hot tools should not exceed 325 degrees. DO NOT dry or style hair upside down.
•Hair should be placed in a loose braid or low pony tail with a silk scrunchy every night before bed. This will prevent tangling, breakage, and matting. I highly recommend sleeping with a silk pillowcase.
3. Always Brush Extensions With Care
•Extensions should ONLY be brushed with a WetBrush©
•DO NOT brush hard at the root as this will cause loosening of the beads and hair on the weft.
•Always start at the bottom of the hair and work your way up when brushing.
4. Move ups MUST be done every 4 weeks to ensure proper maintenance. This can be done up to 3 times before removal and reinstall.
5. DO NOT submerge hair into chlorine or saltwater. This will ruin your extensions.
6. No spray sunscreen onto hair. This can turn or strip hair color and damage the extensions. Avobenzone, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, and Octocrylene are ingredients to completely AVOID when choosing a sunscreen.
