    You should ISOLATE

You have tested positive and should stay at home and isolate from others for 5 days. You are likely most infectious during these first 5 days. Monitor your symptoms for emergency warning signs like trouble breathing, and seek emergency medical care immediately.

If you had no symptoms, day 1 is the first full day following the day you were tested. Start over if you develop symptoms within 10 days of your positive test. If you do have mild symptoms, day 1 is the first full day after the day your symptoms started.

Wear a high-quality mask if you must be around others. Do not go to places where you are unable to wear a mask. Do not travel. If possible, use a separate bathroom and don't share personal household items.

Mask around others through day 10. If you have access to antigen tests, you should consider using them. With two sequential negative tests 48 hours apart, you may remove your mask sooner.

Avoid being around people who are more likely to get very sick from COVID-19 until at least day 11. After you have ended isolation, if your COVID-19 symptoms recur or worsen, restart your isolation at day 0.

Your symptoms are more severe, and you should
    ISOLATE LONGER

You have tested positive and have moderate-to-severe symptoms. You should stay at home and isolate from others for 10 days. You are likely most infectious during the first 5 days. Monitor your symptoms for emergency warning signs like trouble breathing, and seek emergency medical care immediately.

Day 1 of your isolation is the first full day following the day you were tested.

    Your isolation is OVER

You have tested positive, but your isolation has ended.

Since you are not currently experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and more than 5 days have passed since you tested positive, you no longer need to isolate. However, the CDC recommends that you wear a mask any time you're around others for at least 5 days following the end of your isolation.

Avoid being around people who are more likely to get very sick from COVID-10 until at least 11 days after your positive test.

If your COVID-19 symptoms recur, restart your isolation at day 0.

You were EXPOSED. Here's what to do now.

Start taking precautions right away. The CDC recommends wearing a high-quality mask around others inside your home or indoors in public. You should wear a mask for 10 full days after you were exposed. You can still develop COVID-19 up to 10 days after you were exposed.

Get tested at least 5 full days after your last exposure, even if you don't develop symptoms. Continue taking precautions around others through day 10, even if you test negative.

If you begin experiencing any of the following symptoms, you should immediately isolate and seek testing for COVID-19: headache, loss of taste and/or smell, nasal congestion and runny nose, cough, muscle pain, sore throat, fever, diarrhea, or breathing difficulties.

    You sound healthy!

Since you have not been exposed to a known positive case of COVID-19, have no symptoms and have not tested positive, you do not need to isolate or wear a mask around others. If symptoms do develop, wear a mask and take a test.
