Each Service Unit Awards Committee is charged with setting the deadline dates and presenting these awards at a Service Unit Event. Include as much information about the applicant to make the review of the application easier to process.
Please review the awards and complete the information below to nominate volunteers within your Service Unit for these awards.
Rookie of the Year Certificate
The Rookie of the Year Certificate recognizes the time, effort, and dedication put forth by leaders and/or assistant leaders during their first year of service.
Volunteer of Excellence Pin
The Volunteer of Excellence Award recognizes those volunteers who have contributed outstanding service while partnering directly with girls in any pathway to implement the Girl Scout Leadership Experience through use of the national program portfolio or who have contributed outstanding service in support of the council’s mission delivery to girl and adult members.
Outstanding Leader Award
The Outstanding Leader Award is given only once to an adult to recognize outstanding troop leadership in the delivery of Girl Scout program to girls, meriting recognition by geographic or service team.
Outstanding Volunteer Award
The Outstanding Volunteer Award is given only once to an adult in a position other than a troop leader for service to a geographic area or program delivery audience that is beyond the expectations of the position.
Green Angel or Green Knight Certificate
The Green Angel or Green Knight Certificate is presented to registered Girl Scout leaders, co-leaders, Fall Product and/or Cookie Chair Service Team members at the end of their first year of service.
Green Angel and Green Knight Pin
The Green Angel or Green Knight Pin is presented to registered Girl Scout leaders, co-leaders, Fall Product/Cookie Chair Service Team members at the end of their second year of service.
Green Angel or Green Knight Patch
Presented to registered Girl Scout leaders, co-leaders, Fall Product/Cookie Chair Service Team members at the end of their third year of service.
Years of Service Pins
The Years of Service Pin is given to adults in Girl Scouting in recognition of years of service at five-year intervals. Service Units recognize those individuals receiving 5, 10, 15, etc. year pins.
Years of Membership Pins
The Years of Membership Pin numerals show the total number of years of registered membership, both as a girl and an adult, in any Girl Scout/Girl Guide organization.Numeral Guards are attached to the membership pins. Numeral Guards are available in increments of 5 years.
Volunteer Pin
Please note that this pin is different than the Trained Volunteer Pin and is a pin that any Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee volunteer can receive.
