As a part of our 2021 – 2025 Strategic Plan, Basketball WA is placing a renewed focus on supporting Associations to continue to engage, train and retain volunteers from our broad community. Basketball in Western Australia has long thrived on the back of a huge volunteer base, and we need to continue to implement strategies to maintain and grow our numbers of volunteers to continue to support our growing sport.
One way to recognise the hard work volunteers put into our organisation is through the BWA Volunteer of the Year Awards. This is part of Basketball WA’s mission to have a successful volunteer program. We have incorporated a new system of awards, with submissions going in during each nomination block for a variety of awards to be given out.
Each 4 month block we will accept nominations for the BWA Volunteer of the Year awards and post the monthly nominations on our Social Media pages and our website. Each nomination will go in the running for the Volunteer of the Year awards for their category.
Association committee members may nominate multiple candidates during each nomination block for this award.
