The Code444 Student Charter of Commitment 2024 Edition
As students of our school:
• We will take a stand against all forms of violence within our school and community.
• We will hold each other accountable for any acts of violence.
• Resist peer pressure to act irresponsibly.
• Acknowledge and do my part to act consistently with the E Tu Whanau values.
• We will work to eliminate the risk of harm and build protective factors within our school to prevent violence
• Report anything that goes against the Code 444 charter (via e.g, student hot lines, anonymous student boxes, and “tell an adult” systems).
• Act in a way that contributes to a safe, inclusive and equitable environment for all that promotes zero tolerance for all forms of bullying, harassment and discrimination.
• Participate positively in the life and activities of our school by providing respectful and constructive feedback.
• Use information, Social media, photos & videos in a way that respects others privacy and prevents the misuse & viral sharing of information especially with gossip & fights are concerned.
As signatories to the CODE444 Charter of Commitment, we declare:
• We will uphold the pride and the mana of our students & school.
• We will consciously live by traditional values (tikanga, aroha, whakapapa, mana/ manaaki, whanaungatanga, kōrero awhi)
• We will take responsibility for each other and each others wellbeing
• We will ensure all students are nurtured and protected throughout their time here in school.
As members of the CODE444 Youth movement:
• We will stand up, speak out and stop any transgressions – violence flourishes where there is secrecy or acceptance.
• We will take responsibility, act with integrity and be accountable.
• We will support our peers & all other students to be the best that they can be.
• We will be leaders and provide leadership within our own school to enable all students to prosper and soar.
The CODE444 Student Charter of Commitment is a contract set up by CODEFOUR44 to get students on board to sign up and vow to take a stand against violence in and across their schools.
