Awards Committee
Charge: To identify the awards categories to be presented; to create new awards as needed; to revise and restructure applications as needed. Volunteers of the work group are made up of past CMR award recipients and association leaders appointed by the President. Meets annually.
Affiliates & Industry Partners Committee
Charge: To build new bridges between REALTORS® and industry service providers. CMR affiliate partners include mortgage brokers, home inspectors, staging experts, and many more. Volunteers will plan events, leverage resources, and offer solutions that help to make CMR more effective and inclusive. Meets bi-annually.
Appraiser Database Working Group
Charge: To serve as a focus group overseeing the needs of the Docu.Center database. Volunteers will identify concerns and develop resolutions to critical issues. Members will brainstorm and develop new database innovations to serve the appraiser community better. Meets as needed.
Best Practices Working Group
Charge: To continuously update the Association's Best Practices from Showing to Closing by adding and deleting practices necessary to facilitate more successful closings. Volunteers will determine methods of promoting the Best Practices to become customary among our members. Meets quarterly.
Broker Engagement
Charge: To increase engagement from Designated Realtors® in the Association's committees and work groups. Members will craft ideas for an annual submission for NAR's Broker Involvement Grant and serve as a sounding board for CMR programs and services such as New Member Orientation, Membership Meetings, and RPAC Participation. Members will include Managing Brokers, Designated Brokers, and Brokers of Record, representing brokerage firms of varying sizes and service offerings. Meets bi-annually.
Buy in Mississippi.com Work Group
Charge: To strategize and implement effective tactics to grow the brand of Buy in Mississippi.com. Members will share ideas for content, listings, and new services on the website. Volunteers will also serve as ambassadors to help expand the awareness of the site. Meets as needed.
Centennial Work Group
Charge: To create a centennial year recognition plan that celebrates the many accomplishments and milestones of Central Mississippi Realtors® over the past 100 years. Volunteers will collaborate with the NAR Department of Archives and Records. Volunteers will submit a 2024 Centennial Plan to the CMR Board of Directors. Meets as needed.
Community Outreach Committee
Charge: To plan and implement initiatives demonstrating involvement and/or investment in the community. The committee will initiate activities that promote the value proposition of using a REALTOR® and enhance the REALTOR® image by organizing CMR volunteers for events and fundraisers benefiting charitable/community organizations.
Governmental Affairs/RPAC Fundraising Committee
Charge: Volunteers are attentive to local issues that could impede homeownership, private property rights, and the success of small businesses within our ten-county area; Members may be called on to attend "Choosing Realtor® Champions" training and asked to interview candidates for RPAC support in municipal and county elections; Ensures the Association provides members adequate resources to verbalize the value of the Realtor® Party and investment in RPAC; Fosters ways to maintain the Association's reputation of having the strongest local association Major Investor Program in the country; Supports the goal of 53% of membership investing in RPAC's Fair Share. Volunteers must be registered to vote and invest a minimum of $99 annually to RPAC. Meets monthly.
Grievance Committee
Charge: To provide the initial review of ethics complaints and arbitration requests. Volunteers consider if the filing is in acceptable form, if the appropriate parties are named if the filing is timely, and determine if the allegations, taken as true on their face, warrants a hearing before the Professional Standards Committee. Members serving on the Grievance Committee must be willing to attend training provided by the Association. Meets as needed.
Young Professionals Network Advisory Panel
Charge: To be the voice of Central Mississippi's fast-growing group of REALTOR® young professionals who are focused on personal growth, networking, and association involvement. The advisory panel should be a diverse group culturally and geographically represent our ten-county area. Members will primarily focus on helping young professionals engage in association activities, advocacy, peer mentoring, and community. Meets monthly.
Careers in Real Estate Mentorship Committee:
Charge: To provide a group of diverse and up-and-coming talent the opportunity to work directly with real estate professionals of Central Mississippi. Mentors will allow mentees to learn the ins and outs of the real estate professional and shape the industry's future. Myriad career paths are available such as appraisers and home inspectors.
