    This electronic ballot is made available to the owners of the Russwood-on-the-Lake Homeowner’s Association. By casting this ballot, you do hereby confirm that you are the owner of the property listed below and do authorize the casting of this ballot. You further confirm your understanding that this Ballot will be used to assist the community in obtaining quorum and if no proper quorum is established, this vote is null and void.  "By casting your vote via absentee ballot you will forgo the opportunity to consider and vote on any action from the floor on these proposals, if a meeting is held. This means that if there are amendments to these proposals your votes will not be counted on the final vote on these measures. If you desire to retain this ability, please attend any meeting in person. You may submit an absentee ballot and later choose to attend any meeting in person, in which case any in-person vote will prevail." Per HB 2761, all fields listed below are required fields and if you do not complete the Ballot in full, your vote will not count. If you attend the meeting, this vote will not be counted. Please remember that you are allotted one vote per property address. Ballots will be verified by date of submission and the latest ballot for any given property address will prevail. Any vote cast at a meeting by a property owner supersedes any vote submitted by absentee or electronic ballot previously submitted for that proposal.

  • Why do you want to be on the Russwood Board?
    I have been an active participant on the Russwood Board for several terms during our time here including one term as President. A community like Russwood will always face good times and challenges. We have had our share of both over the years. An active and involved Board member is essential to supporting both. At this juncture, I feel we are facing the challenges of community safety and the requirements of the upkeep of the quality of our streets and community property and enhancement of quality support/service from outside providers.. Having been involved in the ongoing discussions of these needs over the past several years I once again feel compelled to serve the community in supporting these requirements.

    What prior experience do you have that you feel you could contribute to the Board?
    As previously stated, I have served on the Board several times in various positions. I have worked for my family oil and gas investment company since 1983. I became President and CEO in 2002. After divesting certain interests in the original company, ELSR LP, in June 2022, I formed and founded our successor company, Liberator Emerald Holdings LP, to build on the foundations of the past company. I currently serve as its President and CEO. I have served on the Board of Directors of Sovereign Bank in Dallas from its inception until its sale to Veritex Bank. I am currently a Founding Member of and serve on the Board of Directors of Dominion Bank in Dallas. I have participated as a member of AWARE Dallas since 1992 serving on many of its committee and Board positions. I represented AWARE on the Board of the Greater Dallas Chapter of the Alzheimer’s
    Association as Finance Chair, 2009 to 2014. AWARE transitioned to become a component fund of The Dallas Foundation in 2014. As a Founding Transition
    Member I have served as its Finance Chair, 2014 to present, and Grant Committee Chair, 2014 to 2021. As of August 2026, AWARE has successfully transitioned to become an independent 501(c)3. AWARE is dedicated to fighting Alzheimer’s disease by providing funding and support to programs, projects, and research of nonprofit organizations that actively help individuals affected by Alzheimer’s in Dallas and the greater North Texas area. To date we have raised and contributed over $15,000,000 to this effort.

    I serve on the Advisory Boards of The Center for Brain and The School of Brain and Behavioral Sciences at UT Dallas

    I am an active member of Northwood Country Club, The Dallas Petroleum Club (former Board Member), and The Park Cities Club.

    I am active member of and travel extensively with SIBF (Society for International Business Fellows).

    Are you a full-time or part-time owner?
    My husband and I have been Russwood the sole and full-time owners of our second home since we purchased it in 1987. Charlie passed away in October 2022. I continue to own the residence and barring any unforeseen circumstances plan to continue to enjoy this neighborhood with my family and friends as Russwood weekenders and summer and holiday residents.

    How do you envision our community moving forward?
    As a Russwood homeowner, I recognize and feel it is the responsibility of our Board to fully research and support any and all efforts necessary to maintain the safety and quality of life that Russwood’s future will require. That being a neighborhood that 1) maintains quality landscape and community areas maintenance, 2) maintains enhanced safety, 3) invites open communication with local support systems, 4) promotes the respect for quality of life, and 5) encourages communication and gathering opportunities that spur the development of long-term personal neighborhood relationships. The effective combination of all these efforts will support enhanced property value and help to maintain the true essence of and character that is Russwood.

    What is the one thing you would like to see changed at Russwood?

  • Tell us about yourself:

    Part-time “weekender” since 2010.  Have home and work in Sherman since 1993.  Married to Laura for 39 years.  Dermatologist by profession.  Hope everyone is wearing their sunscreen.  Sorry I could not make this meeting.  I’m currently at my Granddaughter’s first Birthday party in Houston.

    Why do you want to be on the Russwood Board?

    Try to make Russwood a better place to live.

    What prior experience do you have that you feel you could contribute to the board?

    Board member from 2010-2020, and the past 2 years also.

    I think I know the geotechnical qualities of the land of our neighborhood better than anyone.

    Previous experience on other professional boards as advisory committee member, trustee, and President.

    Part-time currently

    How do you envision our community moving forward?

    We currently have a minimalist HOA with minimalist dues and I’d like to keep it that way.  I think we should take on no more than 2 new issues each year, and continue to fairly and consistently enforce the current Bylaws and Regulations.

    What is one thing you would like to see changed at Russwood?

    I’d like to see the Board encourage volunteerism.  Most of the successful programs and events in our neighborhood have been arranged by volunteers – not the HOA.  The Board should encourage and embrace that.

    I am currently on the Board and want to continue our work to make Russwood safer, strive for better communication and maintain high land values.

    What prior experience do you have that you feel you could contribute to the board?

    I was the head of the Architectural Committee  for approximately 15 years and understand the need for better communication.

    Full time owner.

    How do you envision our community moving forward? 

    We have been working on several projects that need more study and detailed research to determine our true options physically and  financially. 

    What is the one thing that you would like to see  changed at Russwood?

    More volunteer participation to help the Board and the Architectural Committee. We have been blessed with great people who join the Board and we need more volunteers to assist both the Board and the Architectural Committee.

  • Why do you want to be on the Russwood Board? 

    To help continue to grow the beautification and value of our neighborhood.

    What prior experience do you have that you feel you could contribute to the board?

    30+ years of business experience, business owner, community volunteer and leadership, HOA past president in Arlington, homeowner and advocate for “all things looking nice” in every community I have lived!

    Full Time owner of 3 lots

    How do you envision our community moving forward?

    Stricture emphasize on the upkeep of high weeds around homes being mowed and enforcing weeds mowed at least 5-6’ in from road on homes below the hill, investing into a new “Russwood” entrance sign at Georgetown, cleaning up the area by the boat launch with trash can (monthly pick up) and new sign with “Please Help Us Keep Our Neighborhood Clean By Using Trash Receptacle!”, following through on fire hydrants and fire safety (I know current HOA Board is working on, so thank you), getting approved on County budget for all roads in neighborhood to be resurfaced and possibly widened.
