Trinity’s Mission Statement: To be true leaders who, by the pathways of good science and Biblical truth, lead people and their families to a place of physical and spiritual health in Christ
Our Goal: Our goal in providing Biblical counseling is to help you meet the challenges of life in a way that will please and honor God and allow you to enjoy fully His love for you and His wisdom for your life.
Biblical Basis: We believe that the Bible provides thorough guidance and instruction for faith and life (2 Peter 1:3 & Romans 15:4). Therefore, our counseling is based on the precepts and principles of Scripture rather than secular psychology or psychiatry.
Additional Professional Advice: We realize that the situation which brings you to counseling may involve significant legal, financial, medical, or other technical questions so that it may be important to seek advice from another independent professional (including your personal physician). Our counselors will be happy to cooperate with such advisors and help you to consider their counsel in the light of relevant Scriptural principles.
Confidentiality: Confidentiality is an important aspect of the counseling process, and we will carefully guard the information you entrust to us. However, because we are bound by Scriptural guidelines, we envision some situations which may require us to share certain information with others:
- Where there is a clear indication that someone may be harmed, may harm themselves, unless we otherwise intervene.
- When the state of Tennessee obligates us to inform them.
- When a counselor is uncertain of how a particular problem or medication may affect someone, they may consult a physician.
- When a person is associated with a local church and persistently refuses to renounce a particular sin, it may become necessary to seek the assistance of their church to encourage repentance and reconciliation (see Proverbs 15:22, 24:11; Matthew 18:15-20).
Please be assured that our counselors strongly prefer not to disclose personal information to others, they will make every effort to help you find ways to resolve problems as privately as possible.
Resolution of Conflict: On rare occasions, a conflict could develop between a counselor and counselee. To ensure that any such conflicts will be resolved in a Biblically faithful manner, we ask all our counselees to agree that any dispute arising with the counselor or with Trinity Counseling Center as a result of counseling will be settled with mediation according to the principles of Scripture, and follow the process as laid out by Rules of Procedure for Christian Conciliation of the Institute for Christian Conciliation.
- The parties understand that these methods shall be the sole remedy for any controversy or claim arising out of this agreement and expressively waive their right to file a lawsuit in any civil court against one another for such disputes, except to enforce an arbitration decision.
- Having sought to clarify the principles and policies of our counseling ministry, we welcome the opportunity to minister to you in the name of Christ and to be used by Him as He helps you to know Him, to grow in spiritual maturity and in usefulness in His body. If you have any questions about these guidelines, you may request a call from one of our counselors. If these guidelines are acceptable to you, please sign below.
