2022 Award Categories
Medgar Wiley Evers Legacy Award
This award was inspired by the NAACP National office and will be awarded annually to an individual or group who has demonstrated a lifetime of courage and laid the foundation for present and future leaders in the cause of civil and human rights.
Individuals who emulate the spirit and personal sacrifice that Mr. Evers displayed by inspiring new generations to carry on their legacy.
NAACP Community Game Changer Award
Individual or Nonprofit organizations performing activities in line with the North San Diego County NAACP’s mission to improve the inequalities that exist in our community in the areas of Health, Social Justice, Education and or Civic Engagement.
Charlesetta Allen Lifetime Achievement Award
This award was created by the Blue & Gold Committee and is presented annually to an individual who emulate the spirit, dedication and personal sacrifice that Ms. Allen displayed to the end.
NAACP Juanita Jackson Youth Activism Award (24 & under)
This award is presented to an individual or group that has made an outstanding contribution that emulates the dedication, commitment, and leadership of Juanita Jackson.
NAACP Religious Service & Activism Award
This award is presented to an individual or religious organization performing activities in line with the North San Diego County NAACP’s mission to improve the inequalities that exist in our community.
NAACP Freedom Fighter Award
This award is presented to an individual or organization that represents the underrepresented voice and promotes diversity in content as well as information that empowers underrepresented communities.
NAACP Education Advocacy Awards
This award is presented to an individual or organization that represents the underrepresented voice and promotes diversity in content as well as information that empowers underrepresented communities. Individual or organizations performing activities addressing education disparities and other discriminatory practices in public or private education in line with mission of the NAACP.
NAACP Warner Davis Membership & Volunteer of the Year
This award was created by the General Body of the NSDC NAACP and will be awarded annually to an individual who emulates the spirit, dedication, and leadership of Mr. Warner Davis.
NAACP Man/Woman of the Year
Individual that most exemplifies the mission of the North San Diego County NAACP, which is to empower under-served community members with the knowledge to improve their social and economic status. Individual must be a member of the branch in good standing.
NAACP Military Service Award
This award is presented to Military Personnel or a military unit performing activities in line with the North San Diego County NAACP’s mission to improve the inequalities that exist in our community. The award honors military members and Defense Department civilian employees who have supported the DOD mission or overseas contingency operations, or whose attributes epitomize the qualities and core values of their respective military service.
