JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are searching for outgoing and dedicated individuals to create fresh content about their community and culture. This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing digital media platform designed to share, produce, and support the voices or “Soul” of diverse communities in Arkansas.
The person in this role will collaborate with their Soul Crew cohort, campus leaders, and local neighborhood to generate quality deliverables. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for their culture and the drive to advance BIPOC news in their respective communities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 5 to 8 hours a week commitment
- Required to submit three (3) articles or videos to the platform each month
- Required to host one (1) campus or community event per semester to promote the Arkansas Soul - Media brand, give out swag, and create relationships with people in the community.
- Required to attend bi-weekly meetings with fellow interns and program leads
- Required to make an appearance at SoulCon BIPOC Media conference in the spring, and connect with other Soul Crew Cohorts (Spring cohorts only)
- Energy to connect and engage with numerous people within the community
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent communication, personal and professional skills
- Sophomore or Junior level college students, Seniors are welcome to apply.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and/or Video Editing software (i.e. Davinci and Premiere Pro)
- Ability to adhere to a schedule, meet deadlines and prioritize in a changing environment
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Excellent time management skills
- Responsible for recording all hours worked to turn in to Program Leads
MONTHLY STIPEND: $500
