I will be participating in in-person programs organized by the Institute of Classical Architecture (ICAA) in 2023, and I agree to the following:
1. I am aware and understand that the program involves the risk of possibly contracting COVID-19. I understand that while the ICAA has implemented measures to reduce the risk, the ICAA cannot guarantee that I will not become infected due to my participation in an in-person ICAA program.
2. I hereby expressly waive and release any and all claims, now known or hereafter known, against the ICAA, and its officers, directors, and staff, arising out of my participation in in-person ICAA programs. I will not make or bring any such claim against the ICAA.
3. I confirm that I am not experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 (such as cough, shortness of breath, or fever), and do not have a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19. If I were to experience such symptoms, I will withdraw from all in-person ICAA programming. I will also follow all instructions, recommendations, and cautions of the ICAA at all times during programs.
4. I confirm that I have received an approved COVID-19 vaccine (double dose of Pfizer or Moderna or single dose of Johnson & Johnson) and I will share proof of vaccination with the Institute. If it has been at least five months since my second dose of the vaccine (or at least two months for the Johson & Johnson vaccine), I have also received a booster shot of an approved COVID-19 vaccine as shown on my proof of vaccination. I understand that the vaccine requirement does not apply for students under the age of 18. I will contact the Institute directly with any questions about religious/medical exemptions.
5. I confirm that I will wear a protective face covering during course sessions taking place at the ICAA National Office, including in the office space, classroom, library, and Cast Hall. Face coverings are optional during outdoor course sessions. For courses hosted at another location (for example, at a university campus for a University Workshop), ICAA staff and instructors will follow the venue's guidelines on face coverings. In addition, face coverings are strongly encouraged but are optional for lead instructors who are actively lecturing while standing at least six feet away from all students, if they feel that removing their mask is necessary in order to sufficiently project their voice. The ICAA reserves the right to make masking at the National Office optional at any point.
6. I understand that in the case of programs hosted by the ICAA National Office, such as Continuing Education courses, the Summer Studio in Classical Architecture, the Christopher H. Browne Drawing Tours, and the Intensive in Classical Architecture, all ICAA staff, instructors, and students must agree to follow these guidelines. In the case of University Workshops, ICAA staff members and instructors must agree to follow these guidelines, but university students will instead follow the guidelines of the hosting univeristy.
All matters arising out of or relating to this Release shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York.
BY SIGNING, I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD ALL OF THE TERMS OF THIS RELEASE AND THAT I HOLD HARMLESS THE ICAA.
