Mentor Application
Purpose
To connect experienced Workforce Development Professionals with those seeking more in-depth knowledge of the Workforce Development Profession.
Who Can Participate?
Any current member of the International Association of Workforce Professionals.
Mentor Requirements
Mentors ARE Expected To: • Be a good listener. • Respond to communications in a timely manner. • Encourage your mentee objectively to achieve professional goals. • Lead by example. • Help problem solve. • Demonstrate a strong commitment to ethics. • Develop a committed and respectful relationship with your mentee. • Provide professional feedback and career advice.
Mentee Requirements
Mentees ARE Expected To: • Take an active role to facilitate a professional relationship. • Initiate and maintain regular contact with your mentor. • Be committed to leadership development and enhancing personal and professional growth. • Seek feedback. • Prepare for meetings and conversations. • Approach mentoring relationship with an open mind, professionalism, and respect. • Hold to your commitments. • Respond to communications in a timely manner. • Work with your mentor to identify and set goals and track progress.
Program Commitment
One year program commitment. Monthly Meetings 1-2 hours and Mentee will come to meetings prepared with questions and ideas.
