Eastgate Academy Technology User Agreement
Eastgate Academy provides students the opportunity to access computers and computer networks, including the Internet. Our goal in providing this service is to promote educational excellence in our school. All students are expected to abide by the following technology rules and to sign the attached user agreement.
Technology User Rules
1. Students are not permitted to share their passwords with any other student.
2. Students are not permitted to switch computers with another student.
3. Students may not install any program on any computer without teacher permission.
4. Students may not enter, read, or change another student's computer.
5. Students are not permitted to enter the "Admin" user on their computer at any time.
6. Students may not change any settings unless directed by a teacher. There are custom Eastgate Academy desktop & screen savers from which each student can choose. These are the only approved desktop & screen savers to be used.
7. Students may not download information to the network.
8. Students are not permitted to use any proxy or private sites/browsers.
9. Students may not share their name or any other information over the Internet unless approved by a teacher.
10.Students must report any inappropriate sites or information they encounter to a teacher.
11.Students may not use or check personal email accounts and/or social media during classwork hours without teacher permission.
12.Students will not mistreat any computer equipment.
13.Students must report all computer-related problems to a teacher.
14.Students must keep their work area clean and may not eat or drink near their computers.
Failure to follow these rules will result in disciplinary action.
