Event Transportation Requirements
- Designated staff with AED Hands Only CPR Training/AED Training can transport. New hires without training can’t transport
- Transport in it’s protective case and keep in secure location to avoid being lost or stolen
- Maintain AED in moderate temperature, remove immediately from vehicle pre/post event
- If an AED needs to be shipped, reach out to Rick Rothery
Event Use Protocol
- If AED is not used: keep accessible and perform visual checks.
- If AED is used: call 911, use AED, notify Program Manager – Rick Rothery and complete Incident Report Form and submit to Lisa Wideman and cc: Michelle States; Dennis Martin and Christina Kubilus. If the injured party is an AHA Employee also send copy to SVP, HR.
Note any additional information on the Incident Report Form including
- Patient Sex
- Estimated Start Time of Incident
- Who date downloaded from on the AED (name of EMS, hospital etc.)
AED Return Process
- Return within 24 hours
- Post-event inspection of supplies and equipment
- Documentation completed including
Lost, damaged or need supplies for AED, notify Rick Rothery immediately
