    Event Transportation Requirements

    • Designated staff with AED Hands Only CPR Training/AED Training can transport. New hires without training can’t transport
    • Transport in it’s protective case and keep in secure location to avoid being lost or stolen
    • Maintain AED in moderate temperature, remove immediately from vehicle pre/post event
    • If an AED needs to be shipped, reach out to Rick Rothery

    Event Use Protocol

    • If AED is not used: keep accessible and perform visual checks.
    • If AED is used: call 911, use AED, notify Program Manager – Rick Rothery and complete Incident Report Form and submit to Lisa Wideman and cc: Michelle States; Dennis Martin and Christina Kubilus. If the injured party is an AHA Employee also send copy to SVP, HR.

    Note any additional information on the Incident Report Form including 

    • Patient Sex
    • Estimated Start Time of Incident
    • Who date downloaded from on the AED (name of EMS, hospital etc.)

    AED Return Process

    • Return within 24 hours
    • Post-event inspection of supplies and equipment
    • Documentation completed including

    Lost, damaged or need supplies for AED, notify Rick Rothery immediately
